Porsche 944 s2 Cabriolet

Here I have for sale my Porsche 944 s2 Cabriolet. presented in the best colour combination.

For those who don't know the s2 is the final run out version of the 944. It is now becoming very collectable and represents a great investment especially the soft top due to their limited numbers.

The S2 was fitted with the brilliant Porsche 3. 0 ltr 16v power plant which provides very lively performance but can also give you 30+ mpg on a run. Where the S2 really delivers is in the way it drives. it is fantastic fun on the twisty bits but is a comfortable long distance cruiser that can eat up the miles.

My S2 was registered in October 1989 and has a full service history. The last one being done on the 9th May 2016 (121479 miles) at the same time the Cam belt. balance shaft. belts and pulleys were all replaced. The MOT runs until May 2017 and the only advisory being wear to the rear tyres. although they still have approx 1500 miles left (1 years motoring for me).

I have a folder full of receipts for work carried out over the years and the previous owner (who was a Porsche club member) even started a diary of work carried out. which I have kept up. It comes with 2 keys.

As you see the condition is fantastic and gets lots of admiring looks whenever we are out and about. I will say this is not a show queen that only gets polished and never driven. so does have some minor imperfections on the bodywork. There are a couple of stone chips to the front. it also has a very very minor scrape by the front fog lamp and there are a couple a minor blisters on the sills. They are small and do not even show on the camera so would imagine very easy to sort if the new owners so desires. Please don't let these put you off. the S2 looks great and is perfect for regular use and enjoyment.

The interior is also in great condition and benefits from half leather / Porsche script electric sports seats. Being the sports seat they have the deeper bolsters and are very comfortable but also hold you in place. My wife is very fussy about being comfortable and she loves the seats. Having the deeper bolsters it does mean the drivers seat can get a bit of wear and mine has a very small 2mm snag. Another point to mention there are a couple of places where the cream piping has split. Having said that it is still very clean and a nice place to be and EVERYTHING works as it should. even the clock.

The electric roof is also in good condition and works perfectly. It does have a 2mm hole on the passenger side but does remain water proof in the rain.

About 2 years ago the previous owner made some improvements which have made this S2 drive as good as it looks.

He had an expensive SPAX adjustable RSX kit fitted and full 4 wheel geometry set up done. Please do not confuse this system with a cheap horrible after market set up that crashes and bangs over every bump!! This system is superb it manages to stay relatively flat through the bends but is comfortable when you want a gentle cruise (on medium setting). It really does need to be tried to be believed. so please come and have a look and I would be more than happy to take you out for a spin.

He also had fitted a Promax performance chip (gives approx an extra 10bhp but is more to help improve the fuelling at low revs). Also a K & N performance air filter fitted along with a RPM stainless exhaust from the centre section back. which sounds great under hard acceleration but is not intrusive when cruising.

There has also been a Kenwood head unit fitted with bluetooth hands free phone system. all working with discrete microphone behind the steering wheel and USB interface in the glove box.

In summary this is a lovely example of a S2 with no known faults. There are a couple of minor age related marks to the body work and interior but honestly nothing to worry about. If you are looking for a 944 S2 Cab that looks great and you want to drive it and enjoy it. this is the car for you.
