Triumph Stag "Custom" Chev V6 Auto "Bargain" in SA for sale
Triumph stag custom convertible. price includes a very useable soft top and a rare hard top.
The Triumph is fitted with a Chev V6 (same as the early buik) coupled to a turbo 350 trans (s speed automatic) giving it reliability and performance. the motor has plenty of room to modify and make this a very fast car. or you could convert back to the original alloy V8 easily.
The sports exhaust is rough. but sounds great. I have welded all rust properly. treated all inner panels with KO66 to prevent any future out breaks. The paint is british racing green with some added sparkle. spare paint is included.
The trim is very good. but not fully restored. the cracks in the crash pad are covered in carpet. and some minor blemishes are touched up so it presents well as a toy or daily driver. the seats are very good and the door trims are also still very good. the paint is very good in acrylic. with many base coats. several colour coats and several clear coats. but I was not building a show car. so some minor blemishes (minor cracks around door handle). but it does present better than most on the road.
The suspension I went over. upgraded the springs. new tie rods. rack ends. rack bushes and anything that was worn. The wheels are brand new knock on multi spokes. I had them custom fitted and they have new tyres.
The boot has yet to be restored. so needs carpet. the chrome is good. and most fittings are good. the roof works well. and I replaced what I had to. it has a couple of small marks where it folds away. but is good to look at and opens and shuts well. the hard top is good. but has minor corrosion. I can go over it depending on the offer. I was not going to use it. (it is fitted during winter only)
The car has custom plates that are included in the sale price. and so will 3 months rego. it is still registered as a V8. it can easily be registered with a V6. but I left it V8 as I was considering a Windsor transplant. or turbo on the V6.
It starts and runs very well. drives great. sounds great and has plenty of power. I built it for the wife so wanted easy starting and safe on the road. it is very simple to double the performance. which I initially did. but she found it over the top. so it is de-tuned and only running a 350 holley.
I have replaced the wifes toy. so this has to go. I am willing to consider offers and possible trade at genuine wholesale values.
