EXTERIOR
One of the most desirable collector models is the Porsche 356 Speedster and this stunning replica finished in Black. (Code 5701) looks fabulous. Reputed to be one of the finest creators of the legendary 356 Speedster the Chesil Motor Company offer a modern day classic with an iconic 50's design with the original being highly sought after by top collectors. Reproduction detail closely resembles the original drawing much admiration from onlookers who marvel over the soft flowing lines. Gold lettering and chrome detailing contrast against the gloss black beautifully. Made from lightweight GRP the paint finish is never factory finish and having been enjoyed minor age related marks are visible. The removable side windows as per the original are in excellent condition and the hood although watertight does have lose stitching to the rear window.

INTERIOR
A spartan interior as per the 1950's low cost model it is based on gives real simple driver enjoyment. Original style bucket seats with slotted backs finished in black offer incredible support and the perfectly positioned functional gauges offer at-a-glance information. Full carpeting throughout offers a degree of luxury and modern additions such as a Bluetooth stereo and 12V power source will please those on longer journeys. Important finishing touches such as the Porsche wooden steering wheel and Porsche gloss black gear knob make a visual difference. Factory finish must not be expected in a vehicle built as a reproduction but is on par with other offerings in this category.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
A rear mounted. air cooled four cylinder engine displacing 1600cc produces 50bhp which in a lightweight body provides spirited performance. The engine note from the twin chrome exhausts sounds glorious and thanks to simple mechanics and excellent parts availability from the VW underpinnings. running costs are kept to a minimum. The 4-speed all synchromesh gearbox offers light and precise changes.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
Authentic chrome wheels with chrome hubcaps shine brightly although minor age markings can be seen on close scrutiny and are shod in quality 195/60 R15 Pirelli P600 Tyres. Drum brakes all-round offer ample stopping power.
