Mercedes 1975 W114 280 Rally Coupe Project 5 Speed Manual in Australind, WA

Welcome to the Auction of my Project Rally Coupe. It is a W114 1975 280 CE coupe . eries 2. Oz delivered to Chellingworth Motors in Perth with original books. This project has taken me three and a half years to date but something else has been offered to me and I am now Auctioning this car to finance the other. It will be advertised for one week only. if there's no takers I will continue on with my quest to build this Tarmac Rally Car. I purchased this car in pieces with no motor nor transmission. I later found them but they were passed their use by date. The decision was then made to convert the car to manual. I have both a 4 speed or 5 speed option for the buyer along with a high compression M110 with a manual flywheel already attached. Here is a run down on the car. This car has the best body is the best I've seen in coupe for under $20K- There is the need to paint if a perfect paint finish if required. It was delivered with AC and still has blower set with wide centre console. I wasn't going to utilise the A/C in the Rally Coupe setup. It has Manual windows. Seats are very good but the dash has the usual cracks. Complete chrome work fitted with Series 1 front bumper and wrap around rear bumper. He's the bits I've added or replaced. M110-921 W126 South African Hi compression engine with manual flywheel. Currently fitted with Solex carb and 4 speed manual gear box. I removed this combo from a running W116. The intent is to fitted triple weber cars and fit the 5 speed manual gearbox. The exhaust manifold has been painted in extreme temp paint to keep heat out of the engine bay. Reground Dbilas cams. from Germany. sports grind cams 270/280 degree supplied but not yet fitted. New front & rear window seals New boot seal New drivers door seal. Not yet fitted. Front sub frame removal and rebuild with new bushes. ball joints and engine mounts. Rear subframe removed and rebuilt with new bushes throughout. New diff and gearbox mount. New flex discs. both front and rear. Front coils replaced with a custom pair of King springs Rear coils replaced by SLC version All four shocks replaced with Bilstein B4 New steering coupler New engine coil 5 speed manual 717. 000 gearbox. with 5 speed shifter and manual pedal box and linkages. New custom master cylinder and custom braided cable to slave cylinder. Balance tail shaft to suit 5 speed manual Rebuilt front and rear OEM brake callipers New brake lines from master cylinder to all callipers with provision to retro fitted hydraulic floor mount hand brake. New wheel bearings front and rear Rebuilt 4. 08 diff new seals and bearings New 14 x 7 inch Rial deep dish ET11 rims with 225 width second hand. good condition tyres New front and rear sway bar bushes. Standard front sway bar. customised dual rear sway bar fitted and fuel tank realigned to accommodate. Fuel tank clean. flushed and painted. Rebuild headlight with new reflectors Cibie Oscar copies and Hella 140 fog lights. Nardi wood steering wheel Wood gear knob for shifter What needs to be done to complete Brake houses from lines to callipers for front and rear. Intent is customised braided hose from HEL in Qld for $180 Engine needs Dbilas cams fitted and it would be wise to fit new valve seals. supplied. at same time. The existing engine is a good runner.
