1970 H - MG B 1. 8 Roadster SE

Finished in Tartan Red with Biscuit Leather Upholstery and Wool Carpets this represents the Marque at its Very Best.

Built Some 15 Years Ago by "The Bromsgrove MG Centre" the restoration was based on a New Heritage Body-shell and this particular car was built for the NEC Classic Car Show and was the Brochure Car built to "SE" Spec.

The Bromsgrove MG Centre was highly regarded for the quality of their restoration work and considered leaders in the field - today they concentrate on component manufacture and are responsible for the re-manufacture of many MG Parts essential in keeping the Marque Alive.

The Show Car was constructed on a New Heritage Shell and everything was either New or where not available reconditioned to an as new standard.

Post Motor Show this particular car was sold into single Private Ownership and has completed a mere 1762 miles being used on sunny days since.

When the car was offered to us is was immediately apparent that this was a very special example and the passing of time has done little to mar the original build quality. Inevitably time takes its toll and with this in mind we have undertaken a comprehensive but sensible Service and Re-Commission Program to bring the car to the Standard that it is today.

We are getting quite well known ( and commended ) for the quality of our re-commissioning and undertake works thoroughly to ensure the next custodian purchases a vehicle which is as good as it can be.

On the Mechanical Side we have Changed the Engine Oil ( Millers 20w50 ). Gearbox Oil. Differential Oil. Changed the Brake Flexi Hoses and replaced Brake Fluid. We have fitted New Air Filters. Electronic Ignition. Spark Plugs & even a New Clutch. The Coolant System has been Flushed a New Thermostat Fitted and the Coolant Replaced. The Suspension has been Stripped and rebuilt with New Poly-Bushes and Front & Rear Springs have been replaced with New .

Internally we stripped out the Carpets and fitted a New Moulded Set of Wool Carpets as the originals were light faded. The Firestone Tyres Looked Like new and showed no signs of cracking but these went in the bin and a new set have been fitted.

Bodily the chrome work is as the day it was fitted and the original 15 year old paintwork has been detail polished for 2 days and sealed with a quality wax - such is the attention to detail.

Uniquely the car doesn't present as a fresh build and if this makes any sense it is near perfect but with a patina !!

I am confident that this is as good as it gets . which is reflected in the price I guess . to be continued
