1965 VOLKSWAGEN TYPE 3 1500 SQUAREBACK NO RESERVE
Nice early type 3 wagon. originally Polar White at some point a long time ago this car was resprayed Ruby Red and they did a great job. the patina looks natural (ruby red cars had a white undercoat) and will come up beautifully with a polish. Body and Pan (original matching numbers) are solid with only minor surface rust on the pan and a couple patches welded in by previous owner. previous owner also stripped some bog (drivers side rear quarter panel and passenger front) to see what was under there. the rear quarter panel was just a skim coat and can be redone easily and painted. the front had an old repair that could use a bit more work (see pics). however there is NO rust in this car. it's very solid. The engine is a later twin carb 1600 and runs but will need a service. Brakes need doing too (needs new rear cylinders).
Interior is in relatively good condition. I recently had the wiring sorted out by an auto electrician but the under dash wiring needs tidying up. all lights etc are working (except interior light which needs replacing) mostly with new globes. I have recently put in all new fuel lines and replaced the fuel pump with a good second hand one. also has new battery. coil and rebuilt starter motor. front bumper is not pictured but does come with the car.

here is a list of what I think it will need to get back on the road (keep in mind I am not a mechanic but this is everything I can think of):

Brakes to be fixed (new rear cylinders. possibly master. bleed)
Correct Ignition barrel (currently has a later one in that doesn't fit steering column. still usable as is)
New door seals all round
haven't looked at suspension/steering/ball joints etc so assume they need doing and you may be pleasantly surprised.
Major service and Tune.

all up there's not much to do and nothing major. I'm selling with no reserve. I think the car is worth 4k but i'm happy to take reasonable offers for a quick sale.

happy to answer questions and inspections can be made by appointment (send message for my phone number)
located in Hampton East. VIC. cheers and good luck :)
