This car was originally sold in August. but the bidder backed out of the sale after 3 months of delays and procrastinating.
The car is in excellent condition and rust-free.  unlike many first generation MR2s.  The car has only 121. 799 miles on it.  That's less than 4500 miles per year!
There is a small ding on the rear quarter panel (not visible in photo) and no other marks or dings other than the occasional stone mark here and there.  The paint is shiny and looks great.  The interior is in amazing condition for a 28 year old car. Again. unlike so many MR2s of that era. there is no sun-wear or age cracks on the dash.  See photos.  The seats are the original style with virtually no wear. Again see photos. These are the seats that people often stole from MR2s. Because these seats were so prized by thieves. Toyota had to replacement them with restyled one-piece seats for later models.  They are similar to Recaros in looks and comfort.
As I said. I invested over $3000 in the car with the intent to make it my to and from town vehicle. but I recently splurged and bought a 2001 Corvette instead.  The MR2 is now sitting in my driveway. It has a new alternator. new timing belt. near new tires. supercharger rims. new hoses. new ignition wires. a new water pump. a cold a/c. a brand new Pioneer CD radio. and a slightly modified. custom exhaust system to enhance the exhaust sound-- very subtle with nice pitch.  Note: this car has manual windows like the sports cars of old--no electric window worries like so many older cars. Also keep in mind that first generation MR2s have no power steering making steering firm and precise.  I had a 2005 Lotus Elise and the older MR2s steer very much like those highly-prized. very expensive mid-engine British sports cars.  It was rumored that Lotus was involved in tuning the older MR2s with the intent of developing an early version of the Elise.  Mid-engine cars must be experienced to be believed.  I know. I've owned several MR2s. an Elise. and two NSXs. Once behind the wheel of a first gen MR2. you'll feel connected to the road like no other inexpensive. used car available today.  I have owned 8 MR2s-- 4 first generation and 4 second generation editions.  Although the 1991-1995s were quicker. the 1985-1989s out handling them and felt more planted on the road.  The view out the front of the abbreviated 1986 hood reminds you of a GTP race car.  First generation MR2s are becoming rare. especially in this condition. and will surely achieve classic status soon.
I believe for an MR2 in this shape cosmetically and mechanically. the asking price is reasonable considering what people are asking for MR2s that have severe rust issues mechanical problems.
You will not be disappointed with this car.
Due to its age. I am selling the car AS IS.

I forgot to note in my interior description a wear spot on the center armrest which I cover-- the only interior flaw visible.

In the photos you will note the factory side trim has been removed. It was worn and weathered and looked terrible. IMO. I think the car looks better without it. but I bought an aftermarket replacement trim which I will include if the buyer wishes to install it. Also in the photos. you see a small piece of trim missing above a window.  I have since replaced that with an original piece.
