1949 Packard Deluxe with 327CID Straight Eight engine.   All original.   I'm no photographer and the pictures were taken with the car partially shaded. but I've tried to indicate its condition fairly.  I drove this car for fun and to local shows for several years until 1986.   It needed rear brake linings. I bought the linings. shoes. rivet gun and rivets and then lost interest as. at the time. I preferred restoring Model A's.   The (all new when purchased) parts are sitting in a box in the cars trunk. The cars been sitting in my garage. taking up space. for twenty-eight years since.   Its' always been garage kept and has never seen snow. The chrome is in great shape.   Note the original license plate and that the hood ornament and insignia are there (many "acquired legs"). The car has NO MAJOR dents or rust.   The only rust is a skim coat in places where the original paint has peeled and minor surface rust at rear window edge.   There is a minor ding in the hood.   The headliner is near perfect.   All the glass is good with no cracks.   The drivers outside rearview mirror glass is missing.   The seat springs and frames are good (the rear seat is in excellent shape).   The upholstery. being original. needs replacement but the backings are in overall decent shape.   This was a fun car to drive as. with the electric shift option. all you had to do was let off the gas to shift. no need to use the clutch.    All the electrics. including the radio. work as they should (headlights. turn signals. fog lights. cigarette lighters. interior lights. gauges. heater fan etc).   The horns on this vehicle will scare the pants off anyone who is accustomed to what they consider horns on todays cars.   All five hub caps are included along with the spare (in those days. the spare came with a hub cap. )   The hood opens either to the left or to the right and can be removed completely.   The car was running fine when I parked it and I doubt it will take much to get it running again.   While I intend to try and get it running. nbsp;I'm not going to spend a lot of time fooling with it (getting too old and the interest level just isn't there).   If successful. I'll add a note to the listing.   There are NO signs of oil or fluid leaks from it and the radiator. nbsp;hoses. belts and wiring appear OK.   The battery. being almost 30 years old. doesn't charge.  A Packard Motor Company Parts Manual is included (covers model years 1948-1954).   This car would make an excellent restoration car as so little. relatively speaking. is needed. Please feel free to come and see it.   Ask any and all questions before bidding as the required $250 deposit is non-refundable  (heard too many stories of folks who bid. then recant. sticking the seller with the listing fees all over again).   If you want to inspect it. please arrange to do so BEFORE bidding.   I reserve the right to sell this vehicle prior to auctions end as it is listed for sale locally.   Payment in full is due within five days of bid or offers acceptance.   The only accepted method of payment is via PayPal. for both of our protections!  We are located just 5 miles from downtown Wilmington NC.   A word of advice. don't let this one get away!
