So You Finally Decided to Find a Good VW Bug
Hello there and welcome to this special auction. I am a broker and have been hired to post this auction on ebay for this really nice 1965 Volkswagen Beetle. The pictures were taken from my digital camera. The pictures have not been manipulated or re touched. The vehicle has been owned by the same person. since it rolled off the showroom floor. It still retains it's original black and yellow california license plates. It was bought from a Southern California Dealership called Kendon Volkswagen. which is no longer in business. The bug has been a tried and true dependable part of the family. It has had some changes since new. but still remains a bug. This nice car is an original Volkswagen Bug and it has not been restored. but it has been repaired and updated.  The clutch and transmission have been replaced and work perfectly. As you probably know. being that it is a 1965. it came with a 6 volt system along with a 1300 cc engine. Well. to keep up with modern times. the owner installed a newer 1600 cc dual port engine and along with doing that. replaced the 6 volt system and upgraded it to a 12 volt system. It runs great. keeps up with current traffice and easy to park. No accidents. no rust. and seems to just keep going. The under body splash shields (foot pans) have not been replaced as so many people do. hese days. but they seem to look okay to me. How about that old roof rack up on top?. it's original too! What about the miles? Wow!. it only has 87. 44 original miles! Always taken care of. and never abused! The latest thing done. was to recover the front and back seats and the side panels. but the headliner and carpet seem to be holding up well. There is a newer am/fm cassette radio to keep that retro vibe going when driving down the road. You know. it still has the original whitewall spare tire! The nice factory beige paint looks good. it has been repainted in areas. but still looks great! Chrome is showing some age. but what can you say for a car that is approaching 50 years of age. If you are looking into finding a good volkswagen bug to have fun with. then take a second look at this one. you never know. this just might be the one.
What you knew that you didn't know about Volkswagen Bugs

As you know the basic history of the VW Bug. it came out in 1947. In 1949 they put the VW logo on the hubcaps. Hydraulic brakes in 1950. arm rests in 1951 but then took them out the same year. who knows why? Transmission gears became synchronized in 1952 along with a glove box in the dashboard. 1953 gave way to the rear oval glass instead of the original split rear window. In 1955 the bumpers were improved and turn signal lights were installed. and a second tail pipe was installed. Front seats were wider and more adjustable too. 1956 tubeless tires. and side mirrors were added. 1957 larger front and rear windows were installed. A new dashboard. radio. peaker and auto turn off turn indicators also installed. In 1958 ivory disc wheels were offered. 1960 saw more horsepower. added more speed to the speedometer from 74 to 87mph. Also windshield wiper washer was available. and turn signals changed color to amber. A gas guage got installed by July of 1961. . wow. a little late for that? In 1963 the seat upholstery was changed from wool to synthetic. The VW logo on the hubcaps were no longer painted. and larger turn signals installed to see better. The windows got a little larger in 1964. In 1965 the front axle was improved. a defroster vent was added to the center of the dashboard. So there you have it. some history from 1947 to 1965. you are on your own for the rest! Kind of cool to see the changes of the bug over the years.
So now. how can I get this very cool Bug!
