Well. the time has come to sell my beloved diesel RHD JDM 1979 BJ44 Toyota Land Cruiser.
I thought I was going to be able to keep it but funny how life keeps getting in the way of my owning a fleet of super-cool vintage vehicles.
In brief. this BJ44 is amazing!
As you probably know. there are three wheelbases for vintage Toyota Land Cruisers (SWB. MWB. LWB) and this one is the rare mid wheelbase (MWB). which gives you the perfect amount of room in the back.
I do NOT have a documented heritage but I believe that I'm the third owner: I know that it was recently imported from Japan to California. nbsp;was titled (briefly) in Arizona and then I bought it and currently has a clear NY title. It has 40. 00 km on the odometer and everything I see indicates that those are ORIGINAL miles. That's right. I don't think the odometer turned over. I believe that this beauty has 24. 97 original miles. Let me tell you just a few of the amazing things about this gem:
She turns over happily first time. span >every time and ticks along getting smiles and thumbs up everywhere she goes. All stock except for matters of convenience and safety (like swapping out the original split rims and installing a brand-new marine-grade soft top)Totally UNcut dashMinimal rustEntirely garage kept since I've owned herOEM roll barsOEM soft top bowsOEM hitch
Let me address the biggest issue when I received her: the top. Despite the fact that the previous owner (PO) was a super-nice guy. the new top he had made was a disaster. It wasn't waterproof and was made of some kind of vinyl that I'm convinced was lying around on the floor. So. I carefully deconstructed the original top (which came with the truck) and used it as a pattern for the brand-new. marine-grade top.
As such. the new top is made entirely from marine-grade fabric (fully waterproof Seamark fabric from Sailrite) as well as marine-grade UV resistant thread. 30 gauge Strataglass. and marine-grade hardware. The resulting. brand-new top is gorgeous and will keep you dry and happy in a monsoon.

Since I have had the truck. it has been 100% garaged and driven short distances to and from the beach.

As I would ask the same if I was the potential buyer. here are the things of which I am aware and I think you should know/consider when buying this beauty:

You could replace the door gaskets if you felt like it. The wire on the interior convenience light is cut and needs to be repaired. The exterior antenna is bentThere is a scrape near the glove compartment (see picture)There is some small surface rust. but astoundingly little for a 1979The passenger's side mirror has a crack in the frame and should be repaired/replacedSmall tear in seam of driver's side seatThe spare is brand new but the tires could use a new setIn brief. you could probably remedy every cosmetic blemish on this truck in a single lazy weekend.

I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere. I fully believe that this bomb-proof diesel will carry you around for another 150. 00 miles and throughout. you'll be the coolest car at the beach or
wherever you decide to take her. This has certainly been the case for us when we've rolled up to the beach this Summer.

I've taken a slew of pictures and am happy to take more and answer any questions you might have. There is nothing to hide on this truck.  She's an amazing. stock survivor and you could either leave her perfectly as is and drive her for years to come and/or with a minimal amount of time and effort. rewind the clock and turn her into a showcase. Honestly. with the predictions of rising value of vintage Land Cruisers. you could probably drive her for a few years then restore her and sell her at a profit - it's up to you!

++International Buyers++
Note that I have a day job and selling on eBay isn't it. I am happy to facilitate this sale but that does NOT involve driving the car to international ports of departure. spending hours at the DMV to determine how to get the car registered in Sweden. etc. I will deliver a clear NY on completion of the sale and transfer of funds and help the auto transport firm you identify get the truck safely onto the transport (given reasonable warning). Beyond that. it is your responsibility to determine the viability of importing this truck to the country of your choosing.
++Shipping++
You can pick up the truck at zip code 11957 or if you arrange shipping via an auto transport firm. I will meet them at my address to ensure safe loading of the vehicle.

++Payment++
If you have 0 feedback or consistently negative feedback. do NOT bother bidding. This is a significant purchase and should be treated as such. From my side I will make the process as painless as possible.
There is $750 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit due at the close of the sale and the remainder due within three (3) days of the auction's close in the event that you are the high bidder.

Note that this amazing truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time.
