I suppose every car has a story. so I will tell you about this one.
It actually is a true survivor car.
It had been parked in a garage back in 1985 because the owner said the clutch went out and she just never bothered to have it repaired.
The car sat in the garage until last year when someone I knew bought it. hoping to get it back on the road.
He is in his late 70's and his health is not great so he never got around to fixing it either.
He sold it to me and I started the process.
I came to find the clutch had seized and needed to be replaced in it's entirety which I did.
After all the relevant services required to get it running I drove it for a while. then it began to burn oil.
Upon taking it apart it was apparent that sitting for that length of time didn't do it any good.
It has 90. 00 some odd miles on it.
It was in need of a complete rebuild which it received professionally. and only high quality parts were used.
Once in the shop I decided to go through everything that the shop recommended.
That included having the front end rebuilt. flushing the gas tank. new shocks. brakes. brake lines. exhaust. and all new brake lines.
All original electrical wiring in amazingly good shape.
Since the car had sat indoors. all of the rubber weatherstripping around the windows and trunk. engine compartment Etc. were in amazing original condition. still soft and pliable.
They are still intact and in superb condition.
All glass is original. and in great shape.
Headliner is original. and in extremely good condition.
It still retains the original rubber floor which is in very good condition.
Original carpeted kick panels are in very good shape. and so is the area behind the rear seat that is always deteriorated.
The original Sapphire V radio still works well (AM)
I did have both front seats rebuilt. and reupholstered in the correct material.
The drivers seat had a small tear. but I wanted both seats to match so I redid both of them .
The rear seat is still original and in Xlnt shape.
The steering wheel is in Xlnt condition. no gouging. no cracks.
The dash is untouched and the paint is Xlnt  as are the door jambs and door frame surrounds.
The heater works extremely well. and the gas gauge is accurate.
Under the front hood. it actually still retains the original spare tire.
Both front and rear hoods open and close effortlessly.
All exterior bezels. headlamp. tail light and turn signals are in very good condition as are all lenses. and trim pieces. and running boards.
The liner in the front trunk is still in great shape although the electrical wiring cover was missing and had to be replaced with a newer one.
I have all four original wheels that will be on the car upon sale.
I also have the original front retractable seat belts that will go with the sale.
Original owners manual. maintenance card. and dealer packet container come with car.
Doors and windows operate effortlessly. and the doors lock with original key.
The car runs. drives. and stops like the day it was sold.
The transmission shifts through the gears effortlessly with all synchros functioning as they should.
I have all documentation to substantiate items replaced. or rebuilt.
All of the work has been done in the past six months.
The engine has less than one hundred miles on it presently. although I am driving it and that will accrue additional miles until sold. (not even broke in yet)
Everything on the car with the exception of the wiper blades. and new door rubbers. and dome light are original.
The paint still shines nicely.
The bumpers are xlnt but are in need of re chroming if that is your preference.
I chose to leave them as they are as it is only original Once!
It is definitely not an embarrassment in it's original condition. and I prefer it over poor quality restorations as most cars are today with cheap after market items.
The underside is in extremely good condition as well. nbsp;  No Rust!
Battery area no damage!
There is slight surface rust on the front hood but it is surface only. more like a few freckles. nbsp; maybe small dots that may or may not be able to be buffed off as they do not penetrate.
The car has had one repaint (correct color) way back in the early 80's.
There is also similar. very minor surface rust on the rain gutter. but no more serious than the front hood. other than that. no evidence anywhere else.
You will not be disappointed at all if you are a serious buyer of a True Survivor car in the much coveted 1967 year Bug.
If you choose to take it to the next level. that's your choice. and you couldn't find a better candidate for that.
Sorry for being so long winded but I did this in hopes of eliminating ongoing E mail banter of endless questions.
I am not Interested in trades of any kind.
I have other projects ongoing. and if it doesn't sell. it makes an excellent daily driver. and I'll just keep it for that purpose.
It is 100% reliable for whatever your needs are.
