VW Beach Buggy,1959 SWB MK1 GP,tax and mot exempt, genuinely the one to have !

This is a genuine Short wheelbase mk1 GP buggy that was originally built in the late 60's on a 1959 chassis (the one to have). t was well used and then left abandoned until I discovered it and bought it in 1996. Following a total restoration to its original style. it had a full feature in Volksworld magazine august 2001 receiving many awards in the following years and was a pretty iconic buggy at that time. I used this buggy extensively and had loads of fun in it for many years. its very well built in its retro style and has always proved reliable. In 2008 it was dry stored in a private collection until I very mildly refreshed it for this year. After nearly 18yrs of ownership. ive now decided its time to let someone else enjoy it. hence its for sale.

Registered 1959 so its tax and mot exempt and doesn't require seatbelts. just hop in and out ! - 1600cc single port engine. drum brakes all round. stainless steel exhausts. CSP rocker covers. original banded wheels. Rare. period Simca rally bucket seats. period locking petrol cap. can seat 4 but rear seats aren't ideal for adults. Engine just serviced. Currently starts and runs fine. brakes checked and adjusted. king and link pins all good floors and beam totally solid. all electrics are separately earthed and work fine.  Please be aware that this is a used vehicle with no doors. there are a few marks. minor scratches and imperfections on the body and some paint chipped off the suspension etc. nbsp;everything was new and replaced when it was restored and has all covered approx 5000miles since. There are some fixings but ive never needed a roof !! . Currently prepared to pass an MOT (not that you need one). but should anyone be seriously interested but have any concerns. I will arrange to have an MOT test subject to a holding deposit. Also currently 575kgs so can be legally towed on an A frame behind any car. Ive described this as honestly as I can and you wont be disappointed however if you are genuinely interested. the car can be viewed in the Bristol Area.
