1926 Rolls Royce 20 hp Open Tourer by Brockman.
Chassis number: GYK 14
Registration Number: YP 9957
Off test on the 17 th September 1926. this chassis was sent to Windovers for 3/4 coupe coachwork with dickey. In 1997 the car was found in a dilapidated condition & a full restoration was undertaken. A very period picture comes with the car showing it doing service for a local fire brigade. ladders & all. Dick Brockman was commissioned to construct the lovely open touring coachwork we find on the car today.
A full engine overhaul was undertaken along with attention to all mechanical items. The car was also completely rewired at this time. Post restoration the car was regularly but sparingly used with fewer & fewer miles between MOT's until the recent sad passing of the late owner.
The car is finished in a bright Maroon & black colour scheme that suits it very well. the paint being in fine order. The bright-work is also lovely. with much of it having been redone during restoration. To the rear is a capacious motoring trunk.
The interior leather is biscuit coloured & in very fine order complimented by similarly hued carpets. A slab of Burr walnut serves as the dashboard along with the requisite instrument set. The car comes with a set of side screens for inclement motoring & also sports a full length black mohair hood.
Under the bonnet the car is decently tidy & presents well. The engine starts readily & runs quietly. We noticed a leak from the fuel tank on our test drive so will be removing it & making repairs prior to sale. A large nickel klaxon is mounted to the bulkhead & a single side mount is fitted to the passengers side running board.
