1964 Buick Flxible Flxette Hearse

A very rare Landau Hearse. One of only about 11 built by Flxible in 1964.

It is based on the LeSabre  model  and being a Flxette is built on the standard wheelbase (5. 5 meters long) making it a little shorter and more useable than most American Hearses.

It has the 401 cu. in nailhead   Wildcat engine which runs great. since we have owned it {2 years} I have had the carburetor rebuilt and fitted a new fuel pump and filter. The radiator was cleaned out and tested. The engine runs very strong and gets good fuel economy for its size! It was a daily driver when we were in California. Gearbox is standard and has no issues. shifts smoothly.

Brakes were completely rebuilt last year. including new shoes. wheel cylinders and Master cylinder. Drums were machined. Narrowband whitewall radial tyres are fitted and in good condition. plenty of life left.

Body is very solid and straight. ery sound

underneath. this thing is built like a tank! Paintwork is a few years old but still looks great. Vinyl top was replaced a few years ago. not sure when. and is in good shape.

Interior is good overall and complete but could use some tidying. Seat is torn on drivers side and new carpet is needed in the back. Dash is in good condition

Everything works. wipers lights e. t. c  heater works very well.

Overall  a great looking and driving rare but useable Hearse. Probably unique in the U. K?

Parts to keep it on the road are readily available from the States.
