Welcome to my listing for a 1948 Austin 16 BS1 

Full restoration. including nut and bolt rebuild. bare metal respray and interior re-trim.  

Impressive history - first registered new 65 years ago in Glasgow. I have the original stamped fuel ration card and letters from the family who first owned the car. The car once toured Italy! 

The car has been restored to a very high standard. looks fantastic and runs sweet. I would encourage serious prospective buyers to come and see the car. You will not be disappointed! 

The Austin Counties club believe that only 40 of these cars remain and it's quite likely most aren't in the condition of my car.  The 16 BS1 was the first post war 'new' car and is powered by a BMC 2. 2 straight four cylinder engine. The car has a 4 speed gearbox. synchromesh in 2nd. 3rd and 4th. Top speed is around 75mph.  

Spare block. crankshaft and camshaft is offered with the car (worth £500+). Although its very unlikely they will need these parts anytime soon. Also offered is an unused but top of the range breathable cover. which cost just under £500.  

New tyres on the car (including the spare) - period and good to go for many miles.

The car is Old English White over Black and has a stunning new leather interior - white with black trim. new carpet and headliner.
