mk2 escort genuine sport rs

here for sale is my south African rust free mk2 escort 1600 sport. this was only imported in December 2011 and was already fitted with a nice standard 2 litre 205 block pinto with a modified steel sump . eing an export car it has the correct rs2000 shell  strengthening bits.  bought it very early last year and it has been stored in my dry garage ever since and ive probably done less than 500 dry miles since I moted it last may . since ive had it I have replaced the kmh clocks that read 40000 with mph . I have fitted a very good 5 speed sierra gearbox  properly with retroford aluminium blocks complete with new 3 piece clutch and quickshift gearstick. fitted an English axle with the 3. 54 rs2000 diff instead of the koln south African axle again fitted properly . I managed to acquire a set of the wide steel wheels which I think are an inch wider than normal escort steel wheels they are original and not banded and had them blasted powdercoated and wrapped with brand new 185. 60. 13 tyres wich ive done no more than 50 miles on I have also fitted a 4 branch pinto manifold and brand new sportex 2 inch exhaust system with one silencer. washed it the other week and noticed that the windscreen rubber was weeping at the bottom so had this replaced with a new solid  rs2000 windscreen rubber without the trim . I have had the carpets and seats out to check for rust when I got it and it has only had one patch 3 inches by 2 on the inner cill by the drivers side . original cills and arches . I did find a really really tiny small pin hole rust spot on both sides at the very start of the cills behind the front wings so sent the car to a local car restorer who has 40 years experience and he carefully removed the wings and cut out and replaced the metal . rayed the wings to get the correct paint code and put them back on again all properly . I didn't need to tell you this you could never tell and the car was never going to be for sale . the interior is perfect too with no speaker holes im not sure a radio has ever been fitted to it . nbsp;no rust anywhere on this car . have waxed all inside the cills to preserve it but it never gets wet if I wash it im very critical of what gets wet and what doesn't. nbsp;new brakes all round . ice paintwork . never been to a show . s1800 only just been put on by myself so there is a few tiny airbubbles in them but you have to be right up to them to see them . taxed till june and mot is only till 22 may so I will mot again if it sells . it is for sale but I know how hard it is to find a nice clean original car with such a nice unwelded shell having owned mainly mk1 escorts for the last 23 odd years . o will not be selling for peanuts neither will I be swapping or part exchanging for anything only for sale as its a shame to keep going in the garage seeing it sitting there doing nothing although doesn't have to be sold. nbsp; I welcome any viewing or inspection but the viewing will be done at my place of work which is local to me and only if its dry weather !! only bad bits on this car are diff bearings need replacing . thought it was rear wheel bearings which I replaced but there is still a slight noise so it must be diff bearings . nd there is a tiny crack on the inside of the drivers door shut on the door not the shut its half an inch long again I could have hidden it but chose to be honest and a tiny couple of marks round the heater bubble other than that rock rock solid . ny questions please ask sorry about the pictures being the wrong way round im too old for computers .   bankers draft please
