Unbelievably LOW MILES

In the early 60's serious muscle cars began to make their appearance.    Chrysler lead the way in this regard while other companies like GM had to play catch-up.   Most people think of muscle cars as stripped down dragsters. but Chryslers in its wisdom decided to give their customers an option with a car that could be taken to the drag strips and turn in a more then impressive time in the quarter mile and still be able to have the option of being used as a daily luxury car on the street.   These particular cars were known as “Polara's” and set the tone for the next decade for luxury/muscle car.   The following paragraph outlines this concept and the car in this ad in more detail.

Maximizing every inch in the engine department Chrysler was not to be outdone and tweaked their engines to the delight of the power crazy driver's of the early 1960's.   These cars were every lead foot boy's dream!

This particular car has an engine that was built with the intention of racing.   Unfortunately by the time those lead foot youths get the money to have a car like this they don't have the time so this car has never been raced.

The gentleman who is selling this 2-door hardtop 1963 Dodge Polara 500 in this ad. purchased the car from the original owner's estate.   The car was purchased new and driven back and forth to Florida a few times.   The seller died shortly after purchasing the car and the car was then it set in a garage for 30 years until the current owner purchased the car.  

The seller said the car only had 5. 00 original miles on it when he purchased the car and the original interior was still in great condition and the car had no rust but the outside looked a little shabby from years of neglect.   The seller did a nut and bolt restoration on the car to bring it back to how it would have looked on the show room in 1963.  (The car only 5. 25 miles on it today).  

The engine is a 500 cubic inch 450 H. P. with 11. 01 compression Indy motor with Max Wedge cylinder heads.   Cross Ram Intake.

The original interior looks beautiful.   Only the carpet has been replaced with N. O. S. and the headliner has been replaced with N. O. S.

After market gauges (period correct).

4 Wheel Disc Brakes

Crager Mag Wheels (period correct).

All original tinted glass from the factory – rare for cars with no a/c.

Brightwork N. O. S. or replated.

All Stainless polished to like new.

100% Nut & Bolt Restoration

The original owner only put 5. 00 miles on car before it was parked and sat for 30 years.   The current owner says mileage is now only 5. 25.

Note the original trunk still shows beautiful with the original cardboard side panels still in place.

AM Radio. clock and all gauges work.

Original aluminum keys – 2 sets.

Original owner's manual.

Original paper sleeves that fit over the sunvisors with instructions for heater and controls on the dash.

Those car collectors that have been watching Barrett-Jackson the last couple of years have noticed cars like this Dodge Polara that is original and has all of the luxuries and unbelievable horse power have been bringing the really big bucks.   We must say that the owner has put a reserve on that is so low that there might as well not be a reserve.   The winner is going to get a car that he is going to fall in love with for many reasons. obviously it is going to be unbelievably fast. one of the favorite designs for a Dodge muscle car and so original in many areas that even the interior is original.   Take this car to the Saturday night drive in. take it to the drag strip or take it to a serious car show and you will always draw a crowd of admirers.
