1963 Motor Trend Car of the Year.
3 rd Place at the AMC Rambler Club convention in Sacramento.
She has been my reliable daily driver since 2009 and has been very well maintained. and enjoyed by all in Santa Barbara.
I have receipts since 2009. including the following: Resurfaced Head and replaced Head Gasket. Master Cylinder. Oil Pressure switch. Valve Adjustment and Valve Cover Gasket. New Shocks. 2 New Inner Tie Rods and Sleeves. New set of Window Fuzzies. a brand new radiator. and a crystal clear new Windshield.
The glass is near perfect all around the car.
The headliner is in very good condition. although there is a slight water stain above the front passenger side.
The new windshield and new rubber have fixed that problem.
The Bahama Blue body paint is in pretty good condition and shines nicely. but the Cape Cod roof paint has faded.
The roof rack is in very good condition. and all the chrome is pretty nice.
The car starts strong in the morning. the motor purrs. and the transmission shifts perfectly.
For a small engine. she climbs the hills beautifully.
Defroster/Heater works. and the 2 speed fan works fine.
The wipers work. although when accelerating the wipers slow because they are on the original vacuum system.
Dome light works. and lights when the passenger door is opened. but not when the driver's door is opened.
I just turn the light switch when I need the dome light on.
The rear dome light works perfectly when the tailgate is opened.
The odometer reads 20. 90 miles. but I don't know the actual mileage of the vehicle.
The generator has been replaced with an alternator. so the red light "GEN" on the instrument cluster (Weather Eye) stays on.
No Power Steering. No Power Brakes. New Tires. good spare tire.
The gas gauge does not work so I fill up the tank every 200 miles.
New Kenwood stereo is installed with nice rear speakers in addition to the speaker under the dash.
This car is in over all very good condition and sparks conversation every day.
