Current customer rating:
1973 De Tomaso Pantera:
This Pantera has had only one previous owner. I have owned this car since 1977. It was my daily driver for over 20 years.
In 2000 I decided to do a full restoration of the car making all of the modifications that I felt were weak points on the original car.
The body was stripped to the bare metal where we added all steel GT-5 Flares. All paint is acrylic urethane base coat - clear coat by PPG.
At this time we added steel reinforced braces to areas of the Pantera body that are known to flex when running high horsepower motors. We also boxed the rear deck lid and added longer gas shocks out of a corvette.
Hall-Pantera body bracing reinforcements were installed at this time. All of these modifications removed a lot of flex out of the stock Pantera body shell.
The 12 year restoration included replacing every worn part with factory original parts purchased from Hall Pantera or Wilkinson Pantera. The car also has new front and rear glass. Electric Adjustable mirrors were custom fit especially for this car.
The upgraded aluminum radiator. Polished stainless steel over flow tanks
were purchased from Hall Pantera using dual cooling electric fans.
The wheels are HRE custom three piece billet aluminum. Hall –Pantera wildwood brake kit was installed using all new rotors and calipers.
The engine for this car was custom built using a new tall dart cast iron block with Blue Thunder Aluminum Heads.
It displaces 430 cubic inches with dyno numbers of over 500 H. P
&
490 ft. lbs of torque. For a complete listing of all components used can be had upon request.
The 5-Speed Transaxle was completely rebuilt & blue printed by Roy Butfoy of RBT Transmissions. using M-1 parts vs. stock components. The transaxle used modified gear ratios tailored to the engine output. The custom built half-shafts use Modern CV-Joints vs. the stock U-Joints.
The custom bucket seats were covered using the same leather that is used by Ferrari & Lamborghini. We also used Alcantara suede for the door panels and headliner. All of the gauges were completely refurbished using new dials from Hall Pantera.
I have over 140 k in expenses putting this car together. If you are interested in a very well put together pantera without the headaches and cost associated with doing it right. this is the car.
