Land Rover Series 1 1956 / 1957 88 inch with 2286 diesel for sale

Hi.
For sale is a great little 1957 88" Series 1 Land Rover.
Tax and MOT exempt.
It's done 57 k miles.
You'll see from the MOT history below that it's been doing less than 1 k a year for a few years now so while being kept running (and everything works!) it has not been doing large mileages.
Tyres and brakes are good and it has Selectro freewheeling hubs.
Chassis number is 111700273. According to this webpage roverhaul. com/lrsoc-chassis. htm
That means it was manufactured as a 1957 88 inch home market petrol.
It currently has a later diesel engine fitted to it (I'll try and get the engine number but from the colour of the block appears to be a 5 bearing).
Also has parabolic springs and an upgraded heater fitted.
Vehicle is near Amersham. Bucks.
DVLA records have it as being registered in September 1956.
I originally thought this meant their records were probably wrong but a Land Rover Series One Club member has provided this info which means it could well be right:
Hi
It was registered Sept. 1956. but due to the way Landrover issued chassis numbers it is the 1957 Year chassis number sequence. I. e 1957 year can actually start production the preceeding year.

Original plate has been sold by a previous owner and an A suffix plate fitted.
An age related plate (or maybe the original plate) could be obtained from DVLA.
A beautiful little Land Rover that is usable as an everyday vehicle.
