Before I bought it. the truck spent its entire life in Issaquah. WA. Before 2012 the vehicle sat in an airplane hanger for 15 years. In the truck were documents showing the same owner from 1979 to 1998. before it went into storage. I also believe this was the original owner in 1973 because of notes he made notes in the repair manuals.

This is as unmolested and stock of a vehicle that I think you can find. The mileage came to me at around 72. 00. The tenths of miles works but did not always click up the miles. I disassembled and cleaned up the old grease that had hardened and now the odometer works. I couldn't get back to the old miles so it was reset to 70. 00 miles. I believe judging by the condition of the headline. dash. frame. body. seat cushions. that the 72. 00 figure is accurate. That was likely the mileage when the car was parked and by sitting the odometer got gunky.

Karl the prior owner told me that for the most part the original owner only used the truck to go up and down one particular mountain where he could get good ham radio reception. This is supported by numerous radio antenna wires in the cab. It also fits with the horrible steel bumpers you can see in some of the original photos before I had new bumpers fabricated.

Karl bought it and did the body and paint work shown in the photos. If you look carefully at Karl's pictures from when he trailered the truck home. and in his shop. there were no body issues in the rockers. floors. roof etc. that were covered up.

Karl sanded out surface rust but he did not pound out any door dings. If he agrees. I can put you in contact with Karl if you want to talk to him further about the vehicle. I bought it because while I don't mind mechanical tinkering. but I don't want to do any body work.

When I got the truck the first thing I did was swap out the wagon-wheels (still have) for the original wheels and 5 new tires. replaced all tie rods and steering damper and had it aligned. The clutch and 4wd work fine. I replaced the slave and master and ran new steel line between them. All electrical items work. I designed and had fabbed aluminum bumpers. I also installed an 8. 00 lb winch. The fog lights in the front bumper have not been wired in yet.

Currently the vehicle runs fine mechanically. The heat works. the 4WD system and locking hubs work fine. it runs. steers. stops. starts fine. The power rear window even works great!

The following is a list of issues that need attention. for the most part I have sourced the parts and have them in hand. They go along with the sale:

1) Cracked front windshield. I have a replacement in a crate
2) Weak parking brake. I have new shoes on hand
3) Worn "shackle" bushings. I have 8 new shackles with bushings on hand.

Heating controls need dis-assembly cleaning and lubricating. A new headlight switch was installed without the dimmer. A toggle switch works the dome light now.
I would also replace the Rochester Carb and Delco distributor with the original stock Aisan carb and dizzy.
(I have already rebuilt the Aisan dizzy. but have not done the swap yet. )
I have the stock distributor and new points and condenser.
I have a powder coated valve cover I haven't installed yet.
The original tool roll and tools including trouble light are intact including trouble light except for a hammer. The jack is missing. but not the jack handle and tools. I have a bottle jack in the car.
I have sourced parts to add power steering. but was going to tackle that next summer.
