Seller's notes: "This is a 1941 Buick. Please don't bid if you aren't familiar with old cars. This is a driver, it isn't perfect. Front seal on transmission has small leak from not being driven that often. Paint is driver quality and was painted in early 70s prob. It still has a nice luster but there is a little rock chip here or there. Most everything that's power still works power top works. This car is very dry and still has original undercoating."

In 1941. there were five different Buick model lines. called “series. ” They used both names and numerical designations.  Of these five series. there were four different wheelbases and two different engines offered. The Special was broken into 118-inch and 121-inch wheelbases (A-Series and B-Series. respectively) and used a 248 cubic-inch straight-8. Dual carburetors wereoptional on Specials. The Supers used the same 121-inch wheelbase and 248 cubic-inch engine as the Special B-Series. with dual carburetors as standard equipment. The Century and Roadmaster lines were mechanically identical. riding on a 126-inch wheelbase and using a 320 cubic-inch straight-8 with standard dual carburetors. The Limited rode on a massive 139-inch wheelbase using the same 320 cubic-inch engine as the Century and Roadmaster lines.

The Specials and Supers are often referred to as "small series" cars. while the Century. Roadmaster and Limited are. obviously. the "large series" or "big series. "

This 1941 Buick 44c special convertible is an exceptional example of a well preserved pre-war american car.  It has spent the entirety of its life garaged in dry climate and was recently moved to Denver where it has remained garaged.  I acquired this vehicle from the second owner. who purchased it in 1969.  He repainted the vehicle shortly after that and that is the current paint.  I believe it is lacquer paint and it still has lots of luster but I would say it's driver quality.  There is an occasional small rock chip or imperfection in paint.  This car is all original. all panels are original and match up well.  The doors open and close very nicely and feel very solid.  This car is still wired for 6v and most everything still works ie map light. instrument cluster. power top. dome light in top bow of convertible all still work.  The clock works but is unplugged so the battery doesn't drain.  I believe the motor was rebuilt at some point by previous owner and painted in a later model Buick motor paint.  The car runs and drives smooth. gears shift very smoothly although it seems to shift out of second from time to time when letting off of acceleration.  I recently rebuilt carb and ran new lines from pump to carb.  I would say this car is a good driver.  The paint isn't perfect and some of the chrome shows some patina and pitting but with such a pretty car a little blemish goes easily unnoticed.  I will be uploading more pics this week.  </center></font>
