1966 Cortina Mk1 GT
I have owned this for nearly two years. covered less than 200 miles so it will have to go. the old excuse - I need the space!
It is solid but has a fair bit of plating. various marks etc. on the bodywork and some rust appearing on the door bottoms. The interior is very good but the seats are not original – I think they are out of a MK2. I intended to fit front seats with headrests but never got around to it. The fuel gauge doesn`t register but will if you earth the wire from the sender unit - it has had a new tank at some point so probably a fault with the sender unit. It also needs a boot lock.
It would benefit from a tune up since being stored for so long. pinks a bit and tickover erratic until it`s warmed up. but there is no smoke when running.
It comes with 12 months MOT including two advisories which are:- minor leak of exhaust gas (due to exhaust bandage). nderbody/prescribed areas covered in heavy underseal.
Also included are 5 brand new boxed 5. 5J x 13 Minilites. a spare cylinder head. inlet manifold. MOTs from 1983 confirming the mileage. the owners' handbook plus various other books.
