1931 AUBURN TOURING SEDAN RESTORED RARE CLASSIC AMAZING CONDITION FRAME OFF RESTORATION ABSOLUTE TIME CAPSULE: This elegant classic is certain to bring endless pleasure to it's new owner.

Founded in 1902. the Auburn Automobile Company got its start making single-cylinder runabouts. E. L. Cord gained control of the company in 1924. later adding both Duesenberg and Cord to the product line. Every element of the Auburn production process fell under Cord's umbrella. from the manufacturers and engine builders to the gear companies and body builders. As a result. his Indiana-based industrial empire eventually became a viable competitor to General Motors and. a tremendous automotive powerhouse in its own right. Ultimately. due to the economic factors of the Great Depression. Auburn ceased production in 1936. followed by Cord and Duesenberg in 1937. Lycoming engines. an Auburn subsidiary. survives and thrives to this day. Since 1929 Lycoming has built the world's finest engines and. today Lycoming powers half of the worlds general aviation fleet. Sometimes referred to as the "Baby Duesenberg". the Auburn features a straight-8 cylinder Lycoming engine displacing 268 cubic-inches and producing 100 horsepower. The engine was mated to a three-speed transmission and utilized four-wheel mechanical brakes. This Auburn is unquestionably a masterpiece of automotive design excellence. There were reportedly just 11. 47 Auburns shipped from the factory for worldwide distribution for the calendar year. Restored and maintained by a highly respected Southern California collector. this car is a true classic and. a very rare find. Excellent both mechanically and cosmetically this example absolutely drives and performs like a champ. Exterior elements including paint. spoke wheels. headlamps and. chrome are all in superb condition. Interior passenger cabin is excellent and elegant.
