FORD ESCORT G3 RALLY/RACE CAR

Welcome to the listing for my beloved Escort G3. I have owned this fantastic car for 3 years and have competed in many different arena`s of motorsport with it. from historic and stage rallying to circuit racing and sprints. and it is a very competitive car and a real head turner too. Sadly for me. my motor racing is going to have to take a back seat for a while and so this will be a very reluctant and sad sale on my part.

The spec of this car is large and so here is a brief synopsis of what it is. and anyone seriously interested can contact me for more information and pictures. as well as viewing the car.

Firstly. the car differs from any other G3 in that it is not based on a MK3. but instead is based solely on a MK2 floorpan. retaining that cars inner wings. floor. tunnel and all suspension pick up points. and has been modified in such a way to accept the body shell of a MK3 escort on top. but is in reality 80% MK2 escort and thus keeps the handling characteristics of that car. The shell is in very good and extremely solid condition with a full safety devices cage. Perspex windows. fibreglass bonnet and tailgate. lightweight doors. roof vent and as you would expect all the lines etc run inside the car.

The engine is a highly modified 150BHP 1600 crossflow running twin 45`s and a handmade stainless steel exhaust system mated to a straight cut 4 speed rocket box with paddle clutch.

The rear axle is a heavily strengthened English with 4. 4:1 plate type LSD and disc brake conversion. mounted via a rose jointed 5 link set up with turreted coil over shocks.

The front suspension is adjustable bilstein struts. adjustable anti roll bar and adjustable TCA`s. 4 pot caliper`s and an adjustable pedal box brake the car. along with a tilton quick adjuster for quick adjusts on the move.

At the moment the car is in circuit racing spec. but everything you need to convert the car back to rally spec is included in the sale apart from the passenger seat which was sold when I decided to circuit race the car. The Sparco drivers seat and both harnesses are in date until the end of 2017. The Magard sump guard. navigators footrest. intercom and all the other parts are with the car however.

The car is currently on sorn and has no mot due it being raced last year. but it will go through a test without any problem and it conforms will all VOSA and MSA regulations for road and rally use. and has a current MSA log book.

You will not be disappointed with this car as it is a well put together and highly competitive class 2 rally car which I have won many trophies with both on stage and circuit.
