Update: If you have been following this car's listings I have kept it at a "buy it now" price of $24. 99. But because it has just developed a lifter ticking noise in the engine I am relisting it at as a "no reserve" auction at an amazingly low price of only $15. 00. My loss is your gain!! This car is all original with only 67K. well-documented miles. When I bought the car three and a half years ago it registered only 65. 00 miles and was basically in the same condition as you see it today so I would not really consider this a "restore". It was simply taken completely apart. everything cleaned and/or powder coated to factory specs and colors. and then everything put back together. This car received a $6. 00 base coat/clear coat paint job! This is a rare. special-ordered. special optioned. numbers-matching 301 4BBL engine as well as numbers matching TH350 transmission. Engine was taken completely down with new seals and gaskets installed with all parts found to be within factory specs. Tranny was given a normal rebuild. This car is in as close to "museum condition" as you will find throughout - top to bottom - front to back! The underside of the body was only steam-cleaned so that you can easily see there is nothing to hide - no rust anywhere!  The small amount of surface rust you see in the one photo is about the extent of it.   95% of the underside of this car still retains its factory finish. This car is in such great condition. the company that painted my car told me (after they had completely taken it apart and sanded everything down) that they haven't seen sheet metal on one of these old F-bodies to look as fabulous and straight as mine in more than twenty years! Even the fragile tail lights are in as close to perfect condition as what you will find! There are only two scratches in driver's lens (no cracks of any kind). The only details that are NOT to factory specs are the 255/60-15 tires and also the SE decals including the very expensive molded pin stripe kit. When I bought the car down in Augusta. Georgia back in 2010. it still had the rare-optioned engine block heater cord plugged into the motor. I now have it preserved in a zip-lock bag. The t-tops are in fabulous condition and latch like they should. The hood latches like it should as well as opens and closes as it should. The power trunk release in glove box works like it should. The spring-loaded trunk lid flies open as it should (when the glove box button is depressed or key inserted) and it also closes as it should. The heater. vent. and fan blower motor works in all settings like it should. The intermittent windshield wipers work as they should. Everything associated with the emergency brake works as it should. The exterior door handles look as good as new. are not cracked. and work as they should. The splitter exhaust tips are new and are made of 304 stainless - not that cheap chrome plated junk! All interior plastic is in excellent condition except for a little roughness on passenger kick panel. a hairline split in driver's kick panel. and a few scratches on bucket seat backs but not bad or faded out like on most red interiors. No missing pieces anywhere. I installed new headliner and carpet on interior along with new door sill thresholds. I installed new bushings in sun visors so they stay up like new. I also installed new visor swivel hinges with new mounting screws. The only faded plastic was found on the seat belt holder clips on the top of the bucket seats. I bought a can of matching Carmine Red paint from Ames and touched them up. They now look like new. In fact. the interior of this car has been so well maintained that the hobnail velour still emits that exact same sweet aroma as I remember it back in 1979! No store-bought deodorizers will ever be able to duplicate that fabulous smell! I was only 15 years old then but I remember that exact same clean. sweet crisp scent the first time my dad and I test drove a new hobnail velour Trans Am at the local Pontiac dealer 35 years ago. call me crazy. but I never will forget it! I have the rear anti-sway bar with new brackets and bushings but have not had chance to install. I also have the correct 301 two-piece induction plastic pieces that bolt to driver's fender. I do not have the 3" diameter flex hose that connects them to the air cleaner because it is not available. I have replaced all weatherstripping on entire car except for the T-drip seals that are attached to edge of T-tops and hang down over roll-up windows but have not installed them yet. All gauges work like they should including clock. Radio illuminates when headlights are turned on but radio does not play. I have not tried the 8-track. Car runs excellent at highway speeds but carburetor hesitates during accelerating at low speeds. All vacuum lines are hooked up exactly as the emissions decal describes. I have been told hesitation could be caused by the emissions stuff (new EGR valve. etc. ). I have installed completely new dome light assembly only because the plastic chrome was dull on the old one as well as the cover was not a pretty white due to age. All door hinges are new and of course there is no door sag. Trunk remains untouched and still contains the factory black felt liner with no rust anywhere underneath it. Yes. this is a 301 with 6. 6 on hood only because Pheonix Graphix does not make a 4. 9 decal to match SE decal package colors. Steering wheel has no signs of wear. neither does the factory console or armrest. Door armrests look fabulous and are bolted up as they should. Windows roll up slow - even with new motors installed. Also. I installed new power steering pump because old one was dirty (as was the reason for all of the other stuff replaced because I decided components were just too hard to clean versus buying new). All pulleys and motor brackets were powder coated along with fender wells. sub-frame. radiator support. battery tray. all control arms. gas door hinge. hood hinges and their springs. as well as the transmission's cross member. All powder coating was professionally done by same vendor that finishes the frames on every Boss Hoss motorcycle made here in Dyersburg. Also. the transmission was professionally rebuilt by the same vendor that is the sole supplier of every transmission made for all Boss Hoss trikes. A few more things that I recall being new are the tires. brakes. wheel bearings. and radiator. The underside of the hood has the same mirror finish to match the rest of the $6. 00 paint job. I found the build sheet in the spring of 2011 on top of the gas tank. It is now laminated for preservation. It clearly shows this car to be a rare. tri-color optioned. black on red car with gold trim. Car has all new shocks as well as a new set of leaf springs. To me. car sits funny in the back which I believe is because the leaf springs have a different spring rate which I do not like. my wife says I am too much of a perfectionist! The sub-frame has all new bushings and body bolts with yellow zinc washers as you can see in the one photo with the coolant. The matching VIN numbers are clearly visible on both the front of the engine and the rear of the tranny. The VIN on the tranny is located on the vertical edge of the rear of the transmission case next to where the tail housing bolts on. The front end alignment turned out perfect. If you are at all familiar with how these cars are aligned. you know that the way to set the caster and camber is by using shims between the frame and the top control arm spindle. Well it just so happens that the two sides match each other in the amount of shims used. Only one shim was used on each of the fronts and only two were used on each of the backs of the new upper control arm spindles. Just ask yourself how rare that is!! The A/C system is all new as well and cools like it should. All electrical works like it should except for loose connection somewhere inside drivers door for window when you open it at a certain point. Passenger electric lock sticks until you activate it up and down a few times. All lights work as they should inside and out except there is one bulb burned out on the tach. I have installed new stainless tail pipe hanger brackets but still lack finding the pieces that slide up inside the rubber part that you would clamp down onto the tail pipe using a u-bolt. Air cleaner was powder coated high gloss black as well. It is absolutely beautiful! Shaker hood trim ring tightens up onto air cleaner as it should. Every coolant hose was replaced along with all vacuum hoses. I installed all new brake lines except for the one going to the rear wheels (only because I forgot to do it but that is something that is real easy to do). Car has new power brake booster for 4 wheel disc. Note that it is finished in very expensive. OEM correct. cadmium yellow zinc - this is not that cheaply looking imitation paint!! New master cylinder needs to be detailed with the color of your choice. I also have the original spare in trunk (never used) along with the factory jack. Trunk also contains the Fisher T-top bags that are in excellent condition as well. The history on this car is that it was special ordered for a dentist's daughter in South Dakota but you can easily tell by the documentation I have that the car has spent most of its pampered life garaged in the state of Georgia. A few people have questioned whether or not windshield is tinted. The answer is yes. Even though it is really illegal. this is a practice that is quite common in my area. I did this only to protect the flawless dash during those hot. sunny days at car shows. The sides and back glass were tinted with the standard 39% material. Driving at night is no problem whatsoever because the windshield was only done in the 20% tint material. Again. I cannot express enough the amazing shape this car was in before I ever started to clean everything up! It is very easy to tell it is a true 67K mile car. Whoever the winning bidder is will NOT be disappointed!  In fact. if you bid on the car before you come to drive and inspect it and then decide you do not want it after you get here I will refund your $500 deposit without question!  Car wins trophies everywhere I take it.
