vw baywindow camper for sale
Current customer rating: (335 votes ) based onSo here is my 79 bare metal bay panel conversion . it's had been rubbed back to bare metal and clear Coated which has not let any rot through for year . there is absolutely no filler on this van and is a good solid beast !
The engine is a 1600 with a progressive 32-36 carb which kills flat spots nicely . the engine has full new ignition system and regular oil change. running a 4 tip empi exaust . sounds like a beast !!
The interior is Bare and just bordered out so is like a van or a complete blank canvas If a camper interior is what you desire .
Underneath is very rot free sporting a nice black finish for any curious peepers at shows :) and has been lowered as much as can be done withou major modifivations to the body and runs koni shocks all round giving a good ride for such a slammed bay . ( took first prize for rat look at dubbing in Dorset )
The cab has two original brown seats and nice vw heritage carpet . rivers seat worn but that's how I like it . fire extinguisher and j. d bottle as washer fluid with a sheet steel kick plate giving a real sweet look
Has a Sony CD player and two door speakers. radio is working. No headliner front and back . The bus has a angled pop top so it is just front end or back end that comes up at one time that has no liner but also how I liked it on sunny days .
The van is running out of tax runs out at the end of the month . test end of next month . I'm desperately trying to buy my first house so it's got to go . something I thought I would be keeping for a long time yet !
Bad points to note . br>Brake lights have stopped coming on.
The small Sliding window has a minor leak . it's the window it's self not the seal to the van . after much tiger seal and sealant I discover it was the actual window !
The oil pressure light isn't hooked up but I have never had any cooling issue
Fuel gauge not working properly
No speedo wire
And the tyres aren't very good but it comes with 2 new tyres to take away
boot lid seal is perished and let's some water in . nd sliding door seal has a part on the bottom missing so would need a new one inits going to bother you .
I've been very honest here so there are no surprises but is such a cool van and recommend viewing can be used as a daily as I have for weeks at a time . but as most 30+ year old vehicles they need a lot of tlc
If it is bought for full price I will mot is as it never struggles with mot so would not at all be worried to do it of bought for full price .
The van also comes with a few bits and bobs like a sink and some spare parts.
The resrve is not too high and will tell you if you email or text me
So this is your only change to own this one off van . I'm always open to reasonable offer and please don't waste my time . br>Happy bidding and feel free to text or call me (chris) any time 07581119136
forgot to mention the van has a push start ignition and its a little sticky especialy in the mornings yet the starter is pretty much new. nbsp; it has a split charge lesure battery that will run either the main battery or the lesure batter or both at the same time. here a video link to a drive by . sorry about the terrible 240p quality . did it on the iphone but came out 240p ??
