The 1962 Imperial Le Baron was the pinnacle of the entire Chrysler line. This is not just an Imperial. Only 1449 Le Baron's were manufactured in 1962. making it the rarest of all American Luxury models of its time. The limited production Le Baron was really the American Rolls Royce. the choice of CEO's. Hollywood stars and those wealthy enough to afford status beyond Cadillac or Lincoln.

If you're looking for a 50-plus year old ‘driver quality' car. this one is not for you. It COULD be driven anywhere. but it is a show-car first. pure and simple. This car was meticulously cared for and garaged all of its life. And THEN. its owner decided to restore it and make it the best of its kind. I've been collecting Imperials for nearly 40 years and this is the best one I've ever owned.

Finished in its original ‘Sapphire Blue' metallic color. this Imperial is the next best thing to getting in a time machine and traveling back to 1962 and buying a brand new Imperial Le Baron. It is is truly an investment grade museum quality automobile. The paint is magnificent the white new correct leather upholstery has been re-done exactly to factory specifications and shows as new the padded dash shows no sagging. cracking or discoloration and the carpet and door panels are simply as new. Even the unique rectangular steering wheel is perfect. The vast majority of these steering wheels crack on the top AND the bottom. You won't find a crack on this one! . The bright work and painted parts of the dash are also like new.

Of course this Imperial has power steering. brakes. windows and six-way power seat. In addition. this Le Baron is loaded with optional factory equipment. including ICE COLD factory air conditioning. power vent windows. power antenna.

even Imperial's exclusive ‘Auto Pilot' cruise control. And yes. everything works!

The original chrome and pot metal on this Le Baron are amazingly preserved and are not just good. they are excellent. with no pitting. Even the exquisite ‘gaslight' headlights are free of pitting or hazing. It is truly an outstanding example of Chrysler's best. Refinished once in its original factory color.

the base-coat. clear coat paint retains a high luster and even ‘feels' silky to the touch.

Mechanically. this Imperial is 100%. The big 413 cubic inch V 8 starts up every time without effort or coaxing. It's smooth and 'sewing-machine' quiet.

And this is no accident: this original Imperial engine was completely rebuilt by the world-famous Jasper Engine Company. I have receipts totalling $8. 00 JUST for the engine rebuild. The pushbutton 3-Speed Torque-Flight transmission has also been rebuilt and shifts perfectly.

All mechanical systems were gone through during restoration. The power windows glide up and down perfectly (and FAST) and the power seat works as new! EVERYTHING works just as it should including the factory AM radio with rear speaker and power antenna.

The trunk compartment is beautiful to look at.

It is one of the nicest trunk compartments I have seen in all my years collecting. It still has its original side boards. new looking carpet and even retains all original jacking equipment in superb condition. Please note: all five tires on the car HAVE been replaced with new. period-correct white wall radials.

Now look under the hood. It has been completely and professionally detailed and restored and is worthy of ANY show. local or national.

The 1962 Imperials were introduced in September. 1961. There were 6. 60 units produced. The shipping weight was 4740 pounds and it had an original selling price of $5656. 00. The 1962 Chrysler Imperial won the luxury class in the Mobil Gas Economy Run with slightly more then 14 MPG. Improved sales were up 11% from the previous year. but industry position remained unchanged (11 th place).
