This car was purchased from a millionaire friend of mine who spent quite a bit of money on this car.

1960 HISTORIC RALLY CAR

 Don't put your money in the bank this car is a great investment and will only increase in value

1.         BODY

Fully original Mark 1 bodyshell –

Finished in “two pack” BMC Fiesta Yellow (Light Green) with Old English White roof.

Underside coated with `Stone Chip' and then painted body colour.

Brake. fuel and battery lines inside car.

Spare wheels in boot.

Heater air intake blocked off to meet FIA/RAC safety requirements

Light guards on main head lights

  

2.          BRAKING SYSTEM

Standard Cooper `S' Discs. Hubs. Calipers. Drums and Master Cylinder.      

AP600 Competition brake fluid.

Competition Pads (Carbon-Metallic) and Rear Linings

Disc shields removed for improved brake cooling.

3.          SUSPENSION 

Heavy- duty polypropylene inboard bushes.

Adjustable front tie bars with heavy- duty rubber bushes at forward end.

 

4.          ENGINE

Bored +0. 040”. giving 1310 cc

New Forged pistons. all balanced. with new  piston rings

Lightweight steel flywheel.

Big valve -stud head.

Metro Turbo head gasket

Fully balanced crank. clutch. flywheel. rods & pistons.

By-pass hose blanked off & Metro Turbo water pump fitted

L. C. B. exhaust manifold.

Metro 1 ¾ su HIF 44 Carburettor

Gas flowed inlet manifold. Matched to head and doweled.

Metro Turbo manifold gasket.

K & N Competition air filters. . cone type.

3 off Throttle return springs (MSA requirement).

Downton Prepared 998 Engine with many Downton parts Fully running

Badge with original Downton enamled badges

Original Wand type gear stick

All original brake drums and alternator comes with the car

 

5.          TRANSMISSION

Standard 4 syncro gear

6.          SAFETY

 

FIA specification full roll cage padded locally.

Hand held fire extinguishers

2 x 4 point turnbuckle full harness belts to FIA spec.

7.          FUEL SYSTEM

 SU fuel pumps. Pumps mounted in boot ( I also have a double SU fuel pump(As use in competition cars ready to fit)

Twin tanks - 11 gallons capacity in total.

Twin fuel filters.

Twin vent pipes to atmosphere vented out through boot floor.

 

8.          ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

 65 Amp Alternator.

Mk 1 wiring loom.

Additional wiring for all auxiliary equipment.

Spot and fog lights set to operate on `manual' or `main-beam automatic' switching.

Multi fusing and much `redundant lead' wiring to improve reliability.

All 4 auxiliary lights fitted with individual relays.

High intensity horn.

Illuminated reversing light switch.

FIA spec. battery and ignition cut-off switches. Operable from inside

Electric washer pump. Switches for both driver and navigator.

Horn button on navigator's panel.

Headlight flasher switch on driver's panel.

2 off Auxiliary power sockets on navigator's panel

Separate switches for cage lights

Long extended horn lever

 

9.          LIGHTING SYSTEM
