If you are looking for a mint sporting mk1 escort that looks like it has just come out of a ford showroom in 1972 with optional cibie super-oscars and 4 spoke alloys. et has modern day performance with everyday car reliability then read on.
A1 condition throughout as had a professional bare steel nut and bolt restoration completed Aug 02. olid and rust free. iebarted from new (hence original sills) and cavity waxed throughout after restoration. Re-built to look original yet had money spent on sensible modifications where Ford wanted to maximise profit. no expense has been spared!6 months mot. ax exempt. Body;as new underneath having also been underbody waxed after build.
Engine;1700cc crossflow. 38bhp. dles perfectly at 700-800rpm
with 90thou overbore so now at 1700cc. rank re-ground new shells and balanced. rods&new pistons also balanced along with moderate lightening of flywheel. tage 3 head (big ss valves. ronze guides. as flowed. teel rocker posts. kent double springs)hp oil pump. ent 244 cam. ent duplex timing chain&sprockets. ldon distributor. win 40s with custom made airbox& induction (weber). shley 4 into 1 manifold and 2 1/4 inch twin box system. umenition. mex dash rev limiter
Transmission; type 9 5 speed conversion. ingle piece prop. . 54 diff with quaife lsd. and burton heavy duty clutch set. nti-tramp bars. panhard rod.
Brakes;246mm drilled&vented fronts with M16 calipers. ockheed remote servo (front). ias pedal box. 9"drums on rear. earing top mounts on legs. vo adjustable gas shocks all round. mono-leaf uprated springs on rear. uprated springs on fronts (all sensible with good comfort/handling balance!)
Interior;generously sound deadened. full carpets and typical trim etc. 6 clock dash. 'stubbies' re-trimmed in original fabric (last of apparently!)
Audio;Alpine radio/cassette with velocity speakers front and rear with velocity power amp under passenger seat driving rears.

hi I wonder if you can help I notice you listed your car as a 1600gt and have a mex badge and there isn't an avo plate under the bonnet, I have a mk1 with an avo plate that I am restoring the vin plates states it as 1600gt, did you have problems identifying yours
