1970 DODGE CHALLENGER. I'm selling as a replica.

VIN: JH23C0B138706

TITLE: Clear Ohio title in hand and states on title last state of ownership Kentucky.

HISTORY: Sorry. but I can't tell you a lot. I bought the car from car restoring friend that lives near Cincinnati. Ohio. he bought the car from a man in Alexandria. Ky.

 

 

PHOTOS/PICTURES: Ebay Motors make it hard to find all the pictures. I do have more pictures listed. just scroll on the right side of the pictures and you will find more.

 

For your consideration I have a good looking 1970 Dodge Challenger. I had Peachtree Auto Painting in Chattanooga. Tennessee strip the car to bare metal and paint it with base clear coat paint. I did take the bumpers. emblems and most chrome off before taking. I think all the panels are original to the car. maybe a patch in the trunk bottom over the gas tank. its hard to tell because of trunk paint. The none original engine is a good running 360 cubic inch with a ThermoQuad carburetor. The transmission is a 3 speed automatic. looks like a 727 Torque Flite. The rear-end is a 3. 23 positive tracking. the exhaust system Flow Master mufflers. The black interior is decent. the factory air conditioning is all in place and not working. we put a new heater core in. The car is power steering. the brakes are disc in front and drums in the rear. Its just a nice driver with a good body and good paint in my opinion.  

 

We did a lot to this car. but its not a perfect 100 point roll out of the trailer show car. I will take $26. 00 for the car and that's a bargain if you compare to others for sell. 1970 Challengers are high. I had to pay a lot and spent a lot on it. I could do more. but the price just gets higher. If you want a nice car this one may be for you. if you want a perfect car for a driver price. this is not for you. I want you to come inspect the car and be happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We all imagine cars to be more perfect when looking at pictures. things melt togather in pictures. I think you will be happy if you come look. Please read everything below and you will get a good feel for the car.

 

WILL I SELL OFF EBAY? Sure. I want to sell the car and I know lots of you don't have PayPal and ebay accounts.

 

The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the vehicle. its just buying details like shipping. paperwork. who I am. where the car is located and how to pay and contact information.

 

 

IS IT A MATCHING NUMBERS CAR? I don't think so. run the VIN.

 

IS THIS A REAL RT?  I don't think so. run the VIN.

 

ENGINE: Good running engine. no knocks. no rattles. no bad oil leaks. "I will not guarantee you it won't leave a drop on your nice clean floor. but its pretty dry. The way I read the engine code its a 360 cubic in. The carburetor is a 4 barrel Carter Thermo Quad like lots of the Mopars had. The car is like most old car and cold natured. you have to pump it a little to get it stated and let it warm up.

 

TRANSMISSION: Its a 3 speed automatic. looks like a 727 Torque Flite. it shifts good. it has a external oil cooler on the front of the radiator.   

 

EXHAUST SYSTEM: It has the deep loud muscle car sound. it is not new. but good used condition. The mufflers are by Flow Master.

 

PAINT: I consider the paint extra good. When I got the car it was painted white with black stripes and not good paint. The car was original red. but I like black so I had it painted black. door jambs. undersides and all. We took the bumper off. emblems off and most of the chrome. I took it to Peachtree Auto Painting in Chattanooga to have the car painted. The took the paint off to metal and applied a black base coat and clear coat top coat. The paint is nice you have to look for a spec of defect. if you look with a critical eye you might find some. but you have to look hard.

 

VINYL TOP: Looks as good as new with no cracking and no rust bubbles under it.

 

CHROME: We put new front and rear bumper on the car. the rest is decent used condition. the nose trim has a couple of dings.

 

GLASS: The windshield look good. no chips. no wiper marks. the side window roll up and down good (we took the door panels off the front and lubed them. they fit decent. The side window have after market sun tint. it is scuffed in a couple of places.

 

SOUND SYSTEM: A decent Pioneer AM/FM CD.  

 

INTERIOR: Not all new. but good. It is black. the seats have no real wear or rips. the headliner is nice. the dash pad good. the door panels good used condition. console good. carpet a little fuzzy. the wood grain is faded and a piece missing on the console. The overhead console is some after market. 2 wood grain inserts are missing out of the door panels. they can be bought new.

 

WHEELS AND TIRES: The wheels are by Eagle. they are not my favorites and I know if I put wheels on my guess want be what you like and the price goes up. The tires are by BF Goodrich. the fronts are 245/50/15 and the backs 275/50/15. The front tires are worn a little on the inside. I think they are too wide and the square cornered type. the car came with rounded tires. I checked the toe-in with my toe bar and it checked right. you will need to have the front end re-aligned if you put new wheels and tires on. These tire still have lots of wear left.  

 

LIGHTS: The headlights work. tail lights work. brake lights work. dome light not working. I did not check the side markers.

 

GAUGES: The gas gauge works. the oil is on a mechanical gauge under the dash and works. the temp works. but it has not moved completely (its very cold here and I have only driven short runs).

 

HORN WORKS! CLOCK NOT WORKING! WIPERS WORK! PARKING BARKE WORKS!

 

REAR-END: Its a positive traction 3. 23 ratio. it does have some noise. I would just live with it.

 

AIR conditioning : All the parts are in place. but it will not hold gas. the hoses are old and it has never been converted to modern gas. The water flow cable is stuck. past owner just moved it by hand. Heater blower works.

 

HOW IS THE PANEL FIT? I think it is good. the trunk is up a little at the back because of new tight rubber.

 

ARE ALL THE BODY PANELS ORIGINAL? They all look original to me. the floors look original as well as the quarters.

Looks like a patch may have been done in the trunk. but its hard to tell its painted over.

 

NEW PARTS WE PUT ON: Paint. new bumpers. new front brake pads. spark plugs. air filter. heater core. by-pass hose. anti freeze. outer window whiskers. oil and filter. wiper blades. door rubber. right motor mount. transmission mount. trunk rubber.

 

THINGS WRONG WITH THE CAR: Front tires have some wear on the inside edge. AC not working. couple of dings in the nose chrome. little dullness in the flip gas cap. faded interior wood grain. piece of wood grain missing on console. a little rear-end noise. dome light not working and probably something else.

 

WHY DON'T I FIX EVERYTHING: The car is very usable the way it is. the price keeps going up the more I do and its harder to sell and a big reason is that I have too many projects started.

 HAS THE CAR BEEN IN A ACCIDENT? I see no signs of accident damage. the frame looks straight. the sheet metal is not wrinkled up that I see. by law the title has to state it if the car has ever been in a bad accident and it does not.

I listed this car as I see it as a 67 year old car restorer. please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards. this may not be yours. Paid inspectors have to be very critical to cover their back sides. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking. but I think you should come look yourself. I don't like paid inspectors. I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear. don't hit the buy now button and then inspect. come inspect first!

I have sold every car I have ever tried to. so I'm not motivated to be bargained down.
