I find it hard to believe junk here on ebay is hitting $3k-4k and this car is stuck at $1. 00. I have several sales and a 100% rating.
The body on this car was removed from the frame. the frame was disassembled. sandblasted and painted with PPG DP-90.
It was re-assembled with new bushings. steering and suspension components. springs and shocks. Around $1. 00.
The engine and transmission rebuilt and re-installed with new engine and trans mounts. New full dual exhaust from the stock exhaust manifolds. GM Hei ignition. Over $2. 00.
New brake and fuel lines from In Line Tube were installed and new brakes. front disk and rear drum.
New GM sending unit in gas tank installed. Over $500.
The body had a front driver floor pan and the right 1/3 of the trunk floor panel installed. Small patches behind the rear tires and small pacthes in the rear wheel wells. The wheel well lips are original and solid. The heels of the fenders have small patches at the bottom. Trunk lid is rust free. Over all this was a very solid southern body to start with.
New body mounts were used when the body was re-installed on the frame.
The body was primed in DP-90 and primed with a high build PPG primer. There was over $500 in primer used on this car.
The body had over 100 hours of fitting and blocking before painting. The paint is Dupont and was over $1200. To duplicate this paint job would cost between 8k and 10k dollars.
New rubber seals on Doors. window seals more than $200.
The interior has a new headliner. rear seat cover and bucket seat covers installed. the plastic seat backs were covered in leather and new release buttons installed. Door panels are original and near perfect. Almost $3. 00 spent on interior alone. New chrome behind arm rest and new arm rest pads. New window cranks inner and outer door handles. New sill plates were installed. The dash pad is nice and has no cracks. Center console and shifter are very nice. these sell for over $500.
New radiator. heater core. hoses and Transmission lines (from In Line Tube) were installed.
New 442 grilles installed. $400.
The cost of parts alone exceeds my buy it now price not including any labor.
This is what the car needs:
The windshield needs replacing as the new on cracked when the chrome trim was installed.
The passenger seat mount needs to be welded in.
The dash needs to be installed and carpet needs to be re-installed.
The engine bay needs. inner fenders. a carb and detailing.
The trunk compartment needs to be detailed.
The underside of car needs some detailing.
The paint needs touch up at hood where chrome strip by windshield goes. right drip rail. left sail panel where quarter meets roof and a spot on gold strip on trunk lid.
A couple of weekends work and a few hundred dollars and this will be a nice show car.
I DO NOT NEED TO SELL THIS CAR. I WANT TO SELL IT. I WILL NOT GIVE IT AWAY.
IF THE CAR DOES NOT SELL I WILL WORK ON IT THIS SPRING AND THE ASKING PRICE WILL BE MORE THAN DOUBLE MY BUY IT NOW.
