1975 Maserati Merak V8. This recently restored Merak is fitted with a Chevrolet 350. V8 engine mated to the original Maserati 5 speed transaxle. The installation looks very tidy and the car is a blast to drive. Body is straight. paint finish is excellent. new tires and battery. All instruments function as they should. A/C blows cold.

This unique "Outlaw" Maserati coupe was painstakingly modified by a hobbiest in the Midwest. I don't know too much regarding the engine or chassis mods. but the small block Chevrolet was 'shoe horned' into the engine bay and fits very nicely. It appears a priority bell housing adapter was crafted to mate the engine to the original Maserate/Citroen 5 speed transaxle. The inboard rear disc brakes are intact and the whole package is done pretty well.

Cosmetically. the body is straight. with good panel fit and closing gaps. I have no idea if this is the original color. but the brillian red livery compliments the car and the paint finish is excellent. The interior is clean and tidy in light beige. No wear. rips. tears or stains. The windows all funciton as they should and the glass is clear. Instruments all work and there is a battery cut off switch mounted in the center console.

Wheels are definitely aftermarket and the tires are new. The builder also took some liberty with the front and rear grille inserts. fitting components of his own design.

The buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance. Buyer to forward 10% of the total sales price within 3 days of auction close and the balance. in certified funds. within 10 days of close of auction. The car may remain in its present secure storage facility for an additional 30 days while the buyer makes travel and shipping arrangements.
