Up for Auction and selling NO RESERVE is this 1971 Chevrolet El Camino.
This is one rare car. real deal Big Block 402 (396) El Camino!!!!!
Originally a true blue Heavy Chevy El Camino that has been converted to a Super Sport as many of them were.
This El Camino was actually born with a Big Block 402 as a Heavy Chevy Elco!

New for '71 was a "Heavy Chevy" package which featured special decals and some SS equipment.
While the SS was based upon the Malibu. the Heavy Chevy was based upon the base Chevelle model. which had less trim.
The Heavy Chevy could be ordered with any V8 engine except a 454.
Like the Malibu 400 cars. many Heavy Chevys have been converted to SS clones. The VIN on a '71 Heavy Chevy starts with 13437. while the VIN on a V8 Malibu or SS coupe starts with 13637.

Powered for performance and brimming with beauty this 71 El Camino SS is not for the faint of heart.
The freshly professionally rebuilt 396 Big Block V8 is a pavement pounder and  when you get on the gas shifts through the gears efficiently and with authority.
All the high performance goodies were included in the build; 750 Edlebrock carb. aluminum pulleys. new performnace cam. new timing chain. performance valve covers and components. all nicely detailed and built for speed.
The automatic transmission and 12 bolt rear end was also freshly rebuilt.
The El Camino is an all original mile California titled car. only 42719 miles on the dial. obviously well maintained and a great car for the restoration.
The El Camino is by no means a number one show car but has taken first place at a couple local cruise nights and cars shows in California. great driver. aggressive muscle car sound. powered to perform. and a car that you can take to the next level if you want.

The paint has some touchups and small blemishes but nicely presented with the Orange SS Stripes and matching SS Badging is a nice touch.
The body is very straight as is all the body panel fit and gaps with no evidence of any previous damage of consequence.

The Exterior trim. chrome and brightwork is all in place and shows well

The interior shows some wear particularily on the seats but certainly easy to improve and take to the next level.

The Chassis is original and tidy and presentable. the previous owner obviously was attentive to care and cleanliness of the bottom of the car as well as the top!
