A 4x4 crew cab with a single rear wheel is arguably the most desirable truck in the squarebody line up. What makes this truck special is the unique history and documented low mileage as well checking all the right boxes for how a truck of nature should be optioned. It is simply a fact that a truck like this would be a hard one to duplicate considering the model, options and history. It is also a fact classic trucks are an appreciating asset and the fasting growing segment of the automobile market. Do not miss out on this opportunity to own this truck as it would be better than money in the bank. The Truck was ordered by the United States governments Bureau of Indian Affairs as a support vehicle Unit #36 working on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Western Montana. The truck was retired in the early 2000s spending its retirement on a ranch in Eastern Oregon. The truck comes with a clean Oregon Title. Being the truck was subject to the United States Government maintenance protocols, the truck has a complete maintenance history along with a detailed history of the mileage progression for Unit #36 verifying that the odometer has never turned over and this truck indeed has 90k original miles. To put that in perspective the average American driver drives 15k miles a year. This 33 year old truck has the average mileage of a vehicle that should be 6 years old. It is also important to note the majority of vehicles 30+ years old have 5 digit odometers and everyone wants to believe their vehicle has never turned over after 99k. In reality when the average driver drives 15k miles a year you can conclude with simple math that most vehicles have turned. That is unless, they have clear documentation and maintenance records that states otherwise. Cosmetically this truck is in fantastic condition for a 33 year old 4x4 crew cab truck. The body is straight and free of rust. The truck is finished in its original Doeskin Tan paint which shines great. What you see is what you get the truck has never been restored and does have dings and dents here and there most significant would be the passenger side of the bed. The inside of the bed is in great shape and not beat up as well as hold much of the paint. Underneath the floors are in great shape with no rust the frame has been finished in a rust prevention coating. The original #36 is still on the drivers side of the cab which correlates to the paperwork. The wheels are authentic and quite rare General Motors 16.5x9.75 wide steel wheels that were an option only for 1 ton camper specials. The hubcaps are also quite rare as many of the 1 ton trucks were duallies which had different style wheels forgoing hubcaps. These 1 ton only 4x4 hubcaps are larger than other GM 8 lug caps. This is to compensate for the larger Dana 60 front axle only available of 1 ton trucks. The tires are also 37x12.5  Goodyear MTRs only available for military vehicles, they are not to be confused with regular Goodyear Mud terrain tires. Step up inside this beast and your stepping back in time. The interior is in great shape for a 33 year old Chevy truck. Both seats are original and look great. The front has a small rip on the drivers side. The original vinyl flooring is in good shape and not all torn up. The dash is in great shape. The original radio is still present and has not been hacked or cut out. All the door panels are original and good shape. Mechanically this truck is the best a squarebody Chevy is going to get. By 1988 GM was already producing the next generation body style, however the crew cabs and suburban/blazers didn't change to the next generation until 1991. What did change was the updated drivetrain. By 1988 the legendary 454 V8 was powered with fuel injection making it more efficient and powerful. The Heavy duty SM465 4 speed manual is essentially one of the heaviest duty transmissions you could order in a truck of this era. The New Process 205 Transfer case is also the most preferred T-case by 4 wheelers because of its durability from its cast iron and gear driven design. The truck has a open knuckle  Dana 60 front axle and a full floating and locking Corporate 14 bolt single rear wheel rear axle with 4.56 gears. There really isn't a better combination available when it comes to heavy duty 4x4 trucks. The truck runs and drives great and has that deep sound (SEE VIDEO) only proper for a big crew cab 4x4.   $37,500 Delivered Door to Door in the lower 48 United States. This listing includes well over 250 detailed HIGH DEFINITION photos and video, The truck has been described as descriptive as possible.
