SELLER REMARKS

This 1962 Buick Electra 225 hardtop is how you always hope to find the best survivors. Very nicely maintained with a keen appreciation for keeping everything as original as possible. it's still a wonderful car to drive and shows extremely well inside and out. If you dig preservation-class competition. this car is a great candidate.

Still wearing factory-applied Arctic White paint. this big hardtop has the kind of presence normally reserved for the really heavy hitters. Of course. being based on the same platform as the big Cadillacs of the time certainly contributes to that impression. and no matter how you look at it. the "deuce and a quarter" is a big car. However. the expert styling gives it great proportions and for 1962. it actually shrank a bit. and the result was the best-performing luxury car on the market. The flanks are straight and clean. the doors fit beautifully. and it's obviously been a long. long time since it was a daily driver. The paint shines up well and has that soft patina that only time can bestow on a car. and since much of the trim is stainless. it was easy to maintain. The other components. including the bumpers and intricate taillight housings. also remain in above-average condition. And even in 1962. four portholes on the fender meant top-of-the-line.

The handsome. conservative interior is exactly what you'd expect from this heavy cruiser. a wonderfully detailed environment that smells of quality. The front seat cloth upholstery has been replaced with an exact match (a spare roll of the fabric is included with the car). the only thing separating it from the original stuff in the back seat is time. Otherwise. the door panels. carpets. headliner. and dash pad are all original and amazingly well-preserved. The instrument panel is wonderfully dressed in bright metal trim as was the fashion at the time. yet the controls will feel instantly familiar to anyone driving it today. Factory A/C is an important option and it's fully functional with a fresh shot of R12 inside. and even the Sonomatic AM radio still works. including the optional rear speaker. In back. the trunk is outfitted with original carpets and a full-sized spare with jack assembly.

Buick's 401 cubic inch "Nailhead" V8 was legendary in its torque production and moves the big coupe with effortless ease. The '445' on the air cleaner is a reference to the torque rating. making this full-sized car fee much smaller when you stomp the pedal. The engine runs superbly. with a crisp V8 burble from the single exhaust pipe. and looks quite good with original Buick Turquoise paint still covering the engine itself. Maintenance items like the battery. belts. hoses. and some wiring have been replaced. and in the past three years. it received a fresh brake job (including lines. cylinders. booster). rebuilt front suspension. rebuilt A/C system. and new motor and transmission mounts. As a result. it drives like nothing you've ever driven before with a creamy smooth ride to which nothing today can compare. The Twin Turbine automatic transmission is seamless in operation. and you'll be shocked by how clean it is underneath. Original. but very impressive overall. Newer 8. 15-15 whitewalls have been fitted for a correct look. complete with factory hubcaps in the center.

Impressive for a lot of reasons. this big Buick is an incredible survivor that's still highly usable. Call today!
