Seller's notes: "Exceptionally nice L-82 rally sport 4-speed Corvette Convertible that is a numbers matching vehicle. Being 40 years old, the exterior and interior of this car are in excellent condition, and the paint is 976 code, Milli Miglia Red. Inside the engine compartment you'll notice the L-82 power plant is original #'s matching and is factory order except the Edelbrock aluminum intake with a 650 cfm Holley avenger carburetor. I still have the original cast iron intake. This small modification made a night and day difference in horsepower as well as fuel efficiency. The vacuum system is operational and the headlights go up and down easily. The interior is coded 404, Black interior. This car is fully operational needing only a new garage. You can use this car as a daily driver or collector piece. Please feel free to respond to this ad only if you are a serious buyer and plan on taking exceptional care of this car. This car is being sold as is with a clear title."

You are viewing my 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray which has been in my possession for just over a decade. It has definitely been one of my favorite in the collection. but I need to make room for others. This beauty is looking for a new owner who will take her into the next decade for its 50th Anniversary (2023).

According to Larry Shinoda. the 1973 Corvette with its urethane front bumper was closer to what stylist envisioned in 1968 when the C3 was introduced. Looking at this bright red ragtop. you certainly can't argue with him. because it has not only aged well. but has become one of the most iconic shapes of all time. This lovely '73 Corvette convertible enjoyed a quality cosmetic restoration that included correct eyeball-popping code 976 Mille Miglia red paint. 1973 was a transitional year. with the new urethane front bumper but retaining the chrome rear bumper. so it's kind of a love-it-or-hate it year for many Corvette fans. However. this one wears the sexy curves well. with the front bumper matching the bodywork and the rear chrome shining like new. The lines of the are particularly graceful in profile. which also emphasizes the neat gaps and beautiful finish. along with the bright chrome tips. It isn't easy or cheap to make a Corvette look this good. The black interior is original. a bit faded perhaps (hard to keep black upholstery bright in a convertible). but still in excellent shape with minimal signs of neglect. For those of you who appreciate an original interior. it's still comfortable and complete. The car was built with the go-fast basics. which includes a righteous 4-speed manual transmission. Gauges are bright and crisp and there's an AM/FM/cassette radio in the dash. right below the auxiliary gauges.

Corvettes have always used clever convertible tops. and the original white top on this car stows easily under the hard rear deck for a smooth look. This car packs the optional L-82 350 cubic inch V8. (check out the stats on Wikipedia) which cranked out a very respectable net horsepower. and yes. it is indeed numbers-matching. Neatly finished with upgrades throughout. including lots of components painted to match the body. it looks as good as it runs. Chrome valve covers add a little extra flash. and the overall look is of a well-maintained car that has never been rusty or abused. The wide-ratio 4-speed shifts crisply and the chassis is competent into corners and you'll be pleasantly surprised by the size of its performance envelope (especially 2nd gear). Brakes are just as strong. and the undercarriage is quite solid thanks to a lifetime someplace warm and dry. The exhaust was upgraded so the manifolds dumping into the fresh chrome pipes not only looks awesome. but sounds throaty. The Rally Sport option wheels actually look right on the vintage Vette. and they wear a set of white-letter radials. Getting into the Corvette hobby is a way of life and you don't have to settle for some tired. unloved convertible. This legitimate numbers-matching L82/4-speed convertible is fantastic and definitely a head turner. Highly recommended to come out and give it a spin before bidding. and this vehicle just moved with me to San Diego. California from Austin. Texas. For more information. please call (408) 540 8450 or reply to this post with questions.

Disclaimer - the front bumper was cracked on the back of the truck it was strapped to during transit from Texas. It is minor damage (see pictures) but I would like to be transparent of the known issues. and I encourage you to come see it in person.
