1929 was Hudson's most successful year. placing it in 3rd place behind Chevrolet and Ford.   Of Hudson's Pre-War models. many regard the 1929 year as the pinnacle of style. engineering and performance - only Duesenbergs could outrun them.   This '29 coupe is particularly desirable as it features dual side mounts. wire wheels and rumble seat.   A Washington State car from new. it is ready to be shown. driven and enjoyed.

The car is finished in its original color combination of Royal Chariot Red on Malaga Maroon with Vermillion wheels.   The paint quality of the car is outstanding. just very well done.   Body panels are excellent; straight and true with perfect fit.   Both doors close with a precise 'click'. the fit and finish of this Hudson is terrific throughout.

Both bumpers look like new with no damage and excellent plating.   All of the car's brightwork presents very well.

All of the glass was replaced and is crystal clear.

1929 Hudsons have lots of great little details to admire. these were well made cars.

Lights and lenses are all look like new.

Very well done rumble seat with good door fit.   This was a $30 option in 1929.   The step plates follow the faceted design cues found on the radiator cap. gas filler cap and hubcaps.

Phenomenal interior with top quality fit and finsh.

High quality leather was used for the seats and door panels. the workmanship was first rate.

Simple and elegant piano black dashboard with hand pinstriping.   Beautiful instrument cluster with pine cone motif. specific to 1929 models.   All gauges function correctly. interior lighting all works.   The car has new wiring throughout.

Excellent wool headliner.   The Waltham 8 day clock only advances a few minutes every hour. maybe time moved slower back then?   Rear window winds down for communication with rumble seat passengers.   Carpet is high quality square weave with leather binding.

The wheel mounted spark and throttle advance. lights and horn all work correctly.   The car comes with a huge assortment of paperwork including service manuals. bulletins and a comprehensive set of receipts detailing every aspect of the restoration.   A separate folder features extensive information on the Marvel carburetor. as well as written correspondence with Hudson suppliers and marque experts.   Also included is an original 1929 owner's manual and factory parts list manual. both still in great shape.

The 288cid Six was completely rebuilt and runs like a sewing machine.   The motor starts easily and runs outs very well. this Hudson moves down the road with a nice sure-footed feel. you can tell that all systems have been gone through.   Transmission. clutch. brakes. suspension. driveline. fuel vacuum. etc - everything works as it was designed to.

The undercarriage shows minimal wear since the restoration. it's apparent that this Hudson has been used as a fair weather car and treated with kid gloves.   Whether on the road or on the show field. this is a standout example of one of Hudson's most respected models.
