I'm often asked where we find these clean. unique vehicles.

One of my best friends cruises parking lots of retirement homes. Elks clubs. the V. F. W. Hall and the back streets of a well-known Scandinavian neighborhood here in north Seattle.

He can spot a seatbelt slammed in a door a mile away…

He'll notice when a nice old car or truck is driving with a turn signal on just a little too long and he positively twitches with glee when a vehicle with metal bumpers passes by!

If you're in the market for a great looking. One-of-a-kind. great running & driving vintage SUV please give this clean Grand Wagoneer your kind attention.

Feel free to contact me with questions or to discuss a sale before the end of the Ebay auction listing.

My name is Mark Thompson and you can reach me directly at 206/914-1173.

CONDITION:

The photos really tell the Grand Wagoneer's story.

All were taken the afternoon of January 16. 2014 and represent the true condition of the vehicle.

It has spent most. if not all it's life here in the Great Pacific Northwest driving our salt-free western Washington roads.

From the photos you'll see the rig has obviously been well cared for over the years.

We've found absolutely NO evidence of any accidents. storm damage. insurance salvage. theft recovery. repossession or any other nasty negatives to cause you concern as the lucky new owner!

I take great pride in our vehicles and feel that you should know as much about them as possible.

Accordingly. here's a list of the good and also any small things possibly needing attention: The four wheel drive system works just as it should.

With a flip of a switch the drive train goes to full 4 x 4 mode. so most of the time you'll be in 2 WD and not wearing out the strong Dana front axle components during summertime highway use.

The overall exterior is in very good condition.

This rig wears the original factory gold paint color and has had one decent quality re-spray.

Rust? Well. this classic Jeep HATES rust and you'd be hard pressed to find ANYTHING to worry about here! Because we rarely get snow in the Puget Sound Basin. our winter roads are never salted.

The engine compartment is clean.

Climb over. under and throughout - I know you'll come up smiling!

I'm sure you've noticed the unique look of the front end.

The previous long-term owner wanted a modern rig that resembled her 1960's Jeep.

Not many folks know that hidden beneath the stock grille of every 1980's Wagoneer is the design and core support of the original 1963 design.

All that's needed to complete the vintage look are these real chrome bumpers (front & rear). round headlights & bezels. a nice original vertical grille piece and the horn covers.

Every time I take the rig out of the warehouse for a fun afternoon drive or stop for gas. people turn their head and/or ask about it!

All the work was done right some years ago and looks factory-original.

One turn of the key and the strong 360 CID V 8 fires right up with just a few pumps of the gas pedal.

An MSD Electronic Ignition and Blaster coil were added to boost spark output dramatically and custom headers have really reduced exhaust back pressure (it's always great to be rid of those horrible factory cast iron exhaust manifolds that are ALWAYS cracked and leaking on these rigs).

There's a nice. throaty rumble added to by the 3-inch flowmaster-style exhaust.

Needless to say. you WON”T be spending a bunch of money to upgrade or replace the basics on this Wagoneer!

The three-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly. just like it should. with NO slippage.

Of course. there's a tilt steering column. power steering. brakes and windows (all work. including the tailgate glass. but can be a bit slow).

I believe every Grand Wagoneer came with power front disk brakes in 1988 and these stop just fine with no pulling or binding.

All four alloy wheels are wrapped with top line BF Goodrich MT/R 33 x 2. 50 R 15 LT Mud-Terrain T/A radials each with plenty of remaining tread.

It really is a blast to drive anywhere you'd wish to go and the six-inch lift provides great ground clearance!

Please take another look at the interior shots.

The upholstery is like-new and sound on the both front buckets.

Same goes for the rear bench seat.

There are NO cracks in the dash cover.

The headliner is good. with just a little board warpage here & there.

All carpeting. including the rear cargo area and tailgate carpet. are new.

All of the door panels have stood the test of time and are in good condition.

You'll be quite impressed with the dash gauges.

Some years ago the resto shop added these cool. vintage-style VDO dash gauges and they're still as clear and bright as when new.

I particularly like the vibe brought by the under-dash cluster for water AND oil temperature. oil pressure. voltage. amps and also a nice clock.

All the window glass is great with the exception of a small crack at the top of the passenger side windscreen several inches long.

The only other negatives I've found are that the electric mirror switch and power door locks don't work on their own guess old-fashioned knob push/pulling is in order!

The JVC brand AM-FM/CD radio works great!

If you're thinking of bidding on a comparable Chevy Suburban or Ford Bronco of similar vintage. you really owe it to yourself to drive and look this unique piece over first!

PLEASE BID WITH CONFIDENCE

and know that you are purchasing a unique classic from a respected Ebay seller.

I want you to be happy with your purchase (and with me) and that's the main goal!

Please don't be upset by a missed flaw or some unforeseen problem!

No vintage used car or truck is ever perfect.

Having said this. I would not hesitate to drive this Jeep long distance immediately.

Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle. we require that Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid .

If I don't have this initial contact. your bid may be cancelled.

As I've outlined above. the phone number to talk directly to me is

206/914-1173 .

Please feel free to call any time during the auction.

My name is MARK THOMPSON.

You're welcome and encouraged to come by my Auburn. WA warehouse to inspect & drive the Wagoneer.

You might also make an offer as many of my vehicles sell to smart “early birds” that call and work out a deal prior to the auction's end.

I always reserve the right to sell during this period.

A Few Additional Terms and Conditions:

A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction's conclusion.

The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven business days unless prior arrangements have been made with me.

I can accept PAYPAL. but if you plan to pay any more than the deposit through them I'll first need to send an invoice and would ask that you cover the 3. 5% fee Pay Pal charges.

Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract!

You're not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later -- You're more than welcome to do this before the auction ends.

If you decide to have the Jeep transported. there are scores of companies to choose from.

I ship vehicles regularly and suggest that you get a transport bid from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS).

They're Ebay's preferred carrier and will give you a fair quote.

Call my designated rep. Janice. directly at .

Give her my affiliate number (2362642) and she can pull up all our information for station-to-station or even door-to-door quotes.

As an alternative. you might also get bids from the U-Ship website.

You'll be able to choose a transport broker from multiple offers.

The zip code for pick-up would be 98002 (Auburn. Washington).

The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the

BUYER

.

The Grand Wagoneer can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received.

After that period storage is $20 per day.

The vehicle is being sold as-is. where-is. with no warranty expressed or implied.

All information described above is based on the observed condition when the listing was placed.

I've done my very best to describe this vehicle as accurately as possible and encourage bidders to contact me with questions.
