 DISCRIPTION IN A NUT SHELL:::::::::::::  For your consideration I'm selling a good looking 1966 Mustang coupe. This is a real Pony Car. it has a strong running 289 engine with a 4 barrel carburetor. a nice shifting 4 speed manual transmission. 9 inch rear-end. no power steering. drum brakes. nice wheels. good black interior. the turn signals work. headlights work and it drives good for a 1966 Mustang. The paint is not perfect. it has a brilliant shine and looks good under a 10 foot inspection. but has little defects under a critical eye inspection. Face the facts your not going to get a $15. 00 paint job on a car I will sell for $12. 00. What your getting is a nice driver that runs good. looks good and the main things work. BEWARE and HERE THIS: My cars and other cars look more perfect and cleaner in pictures than in person. If the seller does not tell you about defects you will get the car and be disappointed. I don't want you disappointed. please read carefully and come look at the car if you can. This is a good looking car that is sound mechanically to my standards. I consider this car a very nice driver with muscle. by driver I mean its just NO roll out of the trailer show queen that is a perfect new car. It will satisfy most people. but its no perfect car for what I'm selling it for.

I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic. crew chief and instructor in the late 60s. WILL YOU SELL THE CAR DIRECT OFF EBAY MOTORS? Yes. I'm not crazy! I know lots of you guys are not registered with PayPal and just use ebay as a research tool. I will sell you direct. I reserve the right to do that. I do not play the auction game and have my buddies bid the vehicles up. I just put a fair price on them and have sold 100%.

IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS?   I don't see any rust problems with this car. it looks like most old cars on the under-side. Not painted and detailed. some rusty color metal and a little scale. no big swelled places or rusty holes. I never consider a car rust free unless I put it on a rotisserie and take every nut and bolt out.  

IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE?  None that I can find.

WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR?     I'm a 67 year old retired mechanic/classic car restorer/auto mechanics intructor. when I find a car I like. can sell for a fair market price and make a few bucks. I buy it fix a few things and resell.

PAINT:       Very shinny presentable driver quality paint. it is not a 100 point show car paint job. The blue color is not a original Mustang color. it looks like the Shelby blue. The white stripes are painted on and look good on the edges where lots are raggedy. these are nice . The paint looks real nice at 10 feet. but with a critical eye you can see some defects. lots of little specs. The specs look like solvent pops. this is where the coats of paint were put on too fast and chemicals escape through the upper layers. Some touched up chips. but no rust bubbles or big dents. What it comes down to is its hard to get a perfect paint job with a 289 and 4 speed all for this price.  

CHROME AND BRIGHTWORK:          The chrome is very presentable. the bumpers shine good. the emblems are nice. I see a couple of bumper bolts that are dull and some screws that need replaces.

INTEROR:      The upholstery is very nice. no smells and no real wear. the head liner has lot of wrinkles. installer did not pull it tight enough. The dash pad is nice. some trim at the front near the windshield is gone. it is left off lot of times because it is hard to get on. new trim is available. The steering wheel is after market. its just OK.

GLASS:   The sides window roll up and down decent. fit is not perfect. the windshield has a stone chip and some marks.

ENGINE:    The engine is a good running Ford 289 cubic inch. nbsp; it starts good. it runs good. it has no rattles. it has no knocks. The car came with a 2 barrel carburetor and has been up graded to a 4 barrel. Clean engine. the chrome valve covers have pitting. I did pull a valve cover off to see how clean the engine was and it is very clean inside. I'm calling it a 289 because the heads are marked 289 under the valve cover and the car is a C code in the VIN which indicates 289. I did not look at and run all the casting codes.

EXHAUST SYSTEM:  Dual exhaust that sounds good. The tips are GT style and the muffler old school Cherry Bombs.

TRANSMISSION: 4 speed manual that shifts good. the clutch is smooth with no slip.

REAR-END:    No whines or growls. nbsp; its a 9 inch.

BRAKES:  Good brakes. they are not power. but stop decent. they are drums all around. you do have to give some foot. they are not power.

STEERING:   The car is not power steering. I think it drives good other than tight parking.

WHEELS AND TIRES:    Wheels look new. the tires have good tread. The rear tires have minor marks where they rubbed before past owner put air shocks on. The front of the wheel wells are modified for larger tires.

LIGHTS:     They work. turn signals work. headlights work. tail lights work. brake lights work. dome light not working.

 SPEEDOMETER WORKS!     GAS GAUGE WORKS!  Wipers work! Horn not working!

GAUGES: 

 Oil and temp are in a pod under the dash.

HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE?  

 OK for a Mustang.

HOW IS THE PANEL FIT? Normal Mustang fit. that's not perfect. The headlight housing do not fit perfect. hood is down on the front corner.

 CAN I DRIVE THE CAR HOME? The car drives good and everything I have checked is in good condition. but I do not recommend driving any old car home. Reason. I test drive them like a garage doing repair work would. I do not take long trips in them. so it worries me when people head out in a old car.

 TRADES: Please no trades. they never work out and are just to hard!
