Classic/ Vintage Fiat 500 Right Hand Drive, Tax Exempt for sale
Current customer rating: (379 votes ) based onThis Fiat was first registered on 23/11/71 so it's tax exempt. it's also right hand drive. It was previously owned by the famous Italian pasta sauce company Sacla who had a fleet of them for advertising & marketing purposes. each one had a different herb or vegetable vinyl on the bonnet. The cars also took part in a rally for charity and Antony Worrall Thompson along & Tiff Needell were amongst some of the celebrity drivers. In the end I believe a fleet of old Fiats became too costly to maintain and Sacla eventually sold them off. I have owned this one since then which must be around 7 years now. It's always been a very reliable car and used weekly (mainly at weekends) and always garaged. It's also been exhibited at various classic car and steam rallies in the local area. I really don't want to see it go but my wife bought me a new age Fiat 500 Abarth for my birthday and I get just as much enjoyment out of that and sadly there's only 1 space in the garage and that's being take up by this classic!
As far as condition goes it was restored when Sacla owned it many years ago now and it's becoming a bit tatty in places. There's some rust bubbles at the top of the rear wheel arch and where the sun roof attaches. I've never worried about the roof as it's garaged but it would no doubt leak if left out. The rust bubbles have been there for years but will only get worse. As you can see from the pics it still displays well. The seats are all original and a bit split in places but otherwise the interior is average to good for its age. There's no spare or jack and it's not been converted to run on unleaded (I just use an addative. ) It has nearly a years MOT & always sails through it. the mechanic said that the chassis is pretty good and not rotten like most UK cars. I believe it's been undersealed when restored in the past. The mileage reads 6000 but the clock has probably gone around when it reached 100k.
The car could do with tidying and some TLC but i'm sure someone will enjoy spending some time playing with it. They're rapidly going up in value and right hand drive ones are fairly hard to find. I'm not desperate to sell it so no silly offers please. Also no agencies or canvasers. The car is located near Margate in Kent around 1 hour from M25 Dartford crossing.
