ULTRA RARE !!!

ULTRA COOL !!!

ONE OFF CUSTOM BUILT

1936 CORD 812 SPORTSMAN CONVERTIBLE

THIS IS NOT A KIT CAR!!! AND NOT A REPLICA!!!. THIS WAS ALL

HAND BUILT BY AN AIRPLANE ENGINEER. ITS NOT A GLEN PREY. /p>

 AND ITS NOT A SAMCO

YOU MIGHT CALL IT A BABY CORD

BUILT 2/3 SCALE OF AN ORIGINAL

DEFFINATELY ONE OF A KIND!!!!

BE THE ONLY ONE AT ANY CAR SHOW OR CRUISE NIGHT

EASY AND FUN TO DRIVE

MAKE IT A COMMUTER CAR IT GETS 16-22 MPG

FRONT WHEEL DRIVE LIKE AN ORIGINAL CORD

4 WHEEL POWER DISC BRAKES

2300 CC OVH INLINE FORD 4 CYLINDER ENGINE

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION( UNKNOWN???. MAYBE SAAB)

ALL CUSTOM BUILT CHASSIS BUILT TO RESEMBLE A REAL CORD

ALL HAND LAID FIBERGLASS BODY

90% FINISHED

BEEN STORED IN AN AIRPLANE HANGAR SINCE 1985

CURRENTLY REGISTERED( TITLED AS 1962 FORD)

AND INSURED. IN MY NAME( TITLE IN HAND)

PERFECT CAR FOR YOUR COLLECTION

OR TO FINISH AND SEND TO BARRETT JACKSON AUCTION

JAY LENO HAS ONE SIMULAR TO THIS

FRESH OUT OF STORAGE 3 MONTHS AGO. THE BUILDER WHO WAS AN AIRPLANE

ENGINEER. STARTED THIS PROJECT IN 1970 USING A 1/24 TH SCALE MODEL AS

REFERENCE TO ENLARGE TO 2/3RD SCALE OF AN ORIGINAL 1936 CORD

HE BUILT THE FRAME USING PART OF A 1962 FORD9THATS WHAT THE CAR IS TITLED AS)

HE BUILT THE CHASSIS LIKE AN ORIGINAL ONE. FRONT WHEEL DRIVE

HE COPIED THE SUSPENSION PARTS OF AN ORIGINAL CORD

HE HAND LAID THE BODY OUT OF FIBERGLASS. THE THICKEST IVE EVER SEEN ON A CAR

KNOCK ON IT YOU WOULD SWEAR ITS STEEL

HE HAND BUILT THE WINDSHIELD FRAME AND DOOR WINDOWS GOTTA BE 100'S OF

HOURS JUST IN THAT. /p>

HE BUILT THE TOP CONVERTIBLE FRAME AND THE BUMPERS

AND BUMPER GAURDS AND BUMPER IRONS

HE NEVER FINISHED THE REAR BUMPER

IT NEEDS THE THREE BARS CHROMED AND HE WAS ONLY HALF WAY THRU BUILDING

ONE OF THE BUMPER GUARDS. nbsp;HE GOT IT THIS FAR BY 1980. AND DIED IN 1985

THEN THE CAR SAT IN AN AIRPLANE HANGAR UNTIL NOW.

I HAVE SINCE PUT A NEW CARBURETOR ON IT. FLUSHED THE FLUIDS

AND ADDED A NEW BATTERY. I DRIVE IT 32 MILES EACH WAY TO WORK

 WHEN ITS WARM OUTSIDE

I HAVE ADDED THE HUB CAPS . (1961 FORD FALCONS)

THESE ARE AS CLOSE LOOKING TO ORIGINAL CORD HUBCAPS AS I COULD GET IN 13”

I ADDED PORTAWALLS(WIDE WHITES) AND TOOK OUT THE 80'S CASSET PLAYER

AND ADDED A 1940'S PONTIAC RADIO DELETE PLATE

I HAVE ALSO MADE THE LAST BOW FOR THE CONVERTIBLE TOP

AND ADDED NOS HINGES FROM A 47 FORD SPORTSMAN CONVERTIBLE

TO THE TOP COVER TO ALLOW IT TO FLIP UP SO THE TOP CAN COME OUT

THE HINGES TURNED OUT TO BE TWO RIGHTS AFTER I DRILLED THE HOLES

SO I WAS COMMITED TO USING THEM. O I MADE A SMALL WEDGE UNDER THE DRIVERS

SIDE HINGE TO ALLOW IT TO FLIP OPEN EASY

THE TOP FRAME WAS ALL HAND BUILT. AND NEVER HAS HAD ANY MATERIAL ON IT

THERE IS A GLASS OVAL WINDOW AND FRAME AND TOP LATCHES FOR IT

ANY INTERIOR GUY SHOULD BE ABLE TO PUT A CANAVAS TOP ON.

THE CAR IS IN A BASE COAT OF YELLOW PAINT. ITS SMOOTH. BUT CHIPS EASY

IT COULD USE JUST A LITTLE BIT OF FINE TUNING BY A BODY SHOP BEFORE PAINT

YOU CAN DRIVE IT AS IS. BUT I THINK THE MAROON FACTORY COLOR

WOULD BE BETTER WITH A TAN CANVAS TOP. BUT THATS MY OPINION.

IM OUT OF TIME AND CANNOT FINISH

I NEED SOMETHING WITH A BACK SEAT FOR THE KIDS

OR NEED TO FINANCE MY 49 FORD SHORTY SCHOOL BUS PROJECT

BUT IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING EQUALLY AS COOL. LIKE A MODEL A

OR NASH CONVERTIBLE. OR? AND WANNA DO A  MINE FOR YOURS OR SOMETHING

OR A PARTIAL LET ME KNOW

IF YOU GOTTA HAVE IT AND CANT WAIT OR IF YOU NEED A BUY IT NOW . HIT ME UP

ALL LIGHTS WORK. EXCEPT FOR THE HIGH BEAMS

THEY ARE NOT HOOKED UP TO THE COLUMN(FLASH WITH THE TURN SIGNAL LEVER)

ALL GAUGES WORK. THE WIPERS ARE THERE BUT NOT WIRED UP

IT HAS THE FACTORY FORD AIR CLEANER BUT ITS UGLY

AND NEEDS SOMETHING CUSTOM BUILT TO LOOK MORE OLD SCHOOL

THE TIRES HAVE GOOD TREAD BUT ARE WINSTONS

(WINSTON TIRE DEALERS HAVE BEEN LONG GONE). SO THEY ARE REALLY OLD

SO SOME REAL WIDE WHITEWALL TIRES WOULD BE BETTER

ONE PORTAWALL CAME OFF AND GOT DAMAGED. NEW ONES ARE $ 70. 00

I DO NOT LIKE THE MUFFLER. ITS TOO QUIET

THE HEADER IS MADE DUAL AND RUNS OUT THE SUPERCHARGER TUBES

ON THE DRIVERS SIDE THEN GOES INTO ONE PIPE TO THE MUFFLER

IT NEEDS DUAL PIPES AND TINY GLASS PACKS SO IT GETS SOME RUMBLE

THE HEAD LIGHTS JUST TILT UP. REAL CORDS HAD CRANK OUT LIGHTS

THESE YOU JUST HAVE TO GET OUT AND TILT UP

THE RADIATOR HAS A SMALL LEAK OUT OF THE TOP SEAM. AN EASY FIX. /p>

I JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO TAKE IT OUT.

SO ASK YOUR QUESTIONS

NEED MORE PICTURES. JUST ASK

WANNA COME CHECK IT OUT AND GO FOR A RIDE. ANY TIME IS GOOD FOR ME

IF YOU ARE FAR AWAY. I CAN PICK YOU UP AT LAX OR ORANGE COUNTY AIRPORT(SNA)

TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE. AND DROP YOU BACK OFF

NEED IT SHIPPED??? I CAN HELP FIND A TRANSPORTER

AND ASSIST IN LOADING OF THE CAR

COME DRIVE IT HOME IT WOULD BE FUN.

BUT IT WOULD NEED THE TIRES REPLACED

AND THE RADIATOR FIXED BEFORE YOU DROVE IT FAR

A DEPOSIT IS DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE AUCTIONS END

AND CAR MUST BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE OR AT TIME OF PICK UP

TO BE PAID BY BANK TO BANK. OR THE COOL HARD GREEN IN YOUR WALLET

OR IN PERSON. TITLE WILL BE RELEASED WHEN FUNDS ARE CLEAR

Hello Cord owner; I'm sure that the car has long since been sold. If you still have it or know where it is I'd be
grateful for the chance to buy it. I've been a Member of ACD since 1965 but can't drive (bad left knee) or afford one. Call me if you will In Whittier 562 693 0579

still have the baby Cord? Mentioned trade? I have a 37 Buick Century phaeton. Nice old ride. Done at a custom shop years ago in Cali. Since my stroke too much car for me. I have well over 25 thousand in it. Nice canvas top and side curtains. Before I got sick drove from Myrtle Beach to Boston. No problems. Pulled it out of garage last week and scraped the R.F. fender. Decided then need smaller. Only issue and not an issue for me, steering box is sloppy. You handle shipping both ways 100% and I will trade. Send me e mail address so I can send pics.
