Beautiful Pro Built, Steel "Lead-sled" Shoebox:460c.i.,C6, 9" Rear.No Reserve!

I have up for sale my beautiful. and very custom 1951 Ford. Some call these lead-sleds. others a shoebox Ford. Call it whatever. this ride always gets comments left and right everywhere it goes! The build was professionally completed in 2006. and refreshed in 2013. I have a copy of the full post-build inspection done on the car in 2007 by MacKay's Appraisals. The vehicle came in at $42. 00 in value.

This car is all-steel and in great condition. with all of 5. 50 miles since its ground-up build. Several thousands were spent in the bodywork and paint alone. The roof-line was chopped right with approximately 5" taken off. The body was shortened and channeled as well before being installed over a full-custom frame. During the bodywork phase. the entire car was decked. shaved. and frenched. Custom door-handles were installed. frenched; headlights. markers. taillights. and power antenna. Likewise the firewall was notched and smoothed. The grill is a custom 'one-off' giving the car more of a Mercury look. as is the hood. Front and rear bumpers are custom modded from a '39 Ford. The rear lights are '49 tails. they're smaller. cleaner. and look nicer.

After the bodywork was finished. it was sprayed with several coats of 2001 Ford Mustang electric green metallic paint and clear. I would give the paint 9+ out of 10. The only thing keeping it from perfect are a few very small touch-up spots on the custom bumpers. and in the passenger's-side door jam. These imperfections are minor. and not noticeable unless looking for them. The custom exterior body work & paint are gorgeous. and the #1 thing people point out about the car.  

The custom frame incorporates a Mustang II front-clip w/ disc brakes. and a 9" rear-end w/air shocks and drums. Likewise it has a driveshaft loop and beefy cross-members. The vehicle has a mini-tub to accommodate the U. S. Smoothie wheels wrapped in 295/50-15 rubber in back (w/ plenty of tread). and195/70-14s in front (replaced at 5. 00mi. ). This combo gives the car a very nice staggered pro-street look. Likewise the vehicle has a fuel cell in the trunk w/ race pump under-mounted to the body.

Pop the hood to find a fully finished-for-show engine compartment. The 460c. i. engine was rebuilt at time of vehicle assembly. It is equipped with an Edelbrock manifold and 650 carb to get things flowing better. I also just went through and did an extensive tune-up to the motor this past April. The service included; air filter. oil/filter. new radiator hoses. cap. and fluid. along with spark plugs. plug wires. cap/rotor. and new coil. New rear brakes were installed 12/13.

This big block has a nice. yet mild exhaust tone coming out of an all new dual-2. 5" aluminized collector-back exhaust. The perfect sound is thanks in part to the high-flow headers and 2-chamber Flowmaster mufflers. as well as the dual megaphone tips. It sounds very healthy. but has zero highway drone.

Sitting behind the engine is a freshly rebuilt C6 transmission. The build included a new TransGo shift-kit to go with the Hurst 'quarter-stick' shifter. The transmission is setup to be firm. but not neck breaking. This delivers power to a solid 9" rear-end. The transmission has a 1-year/unlimited mileage warranty starting 6/30/13. It runs about 2500rpm's at freeway speeds!

Inside you will find all custom Auto Meter gauges. including; speedo. column tach. fuel. water temp. volt meter. and oil. They look factory installed the way they fit so nicely in the dash. Between the bucket seats is that Hurst quarter-stick shifter. as well as a center-mount fire extinguisher. I recently updated the interior with a new headliner. and refinished all seats in a custom two-tone tweed fabric. The design I came up with is a mix of retro meets modern. I put 3 coats of Auto Scotch Guard protection on the seats before reinstalling. It turned out excellent. and I get many compliments on the clean looks and lines of the passenger area.

To stay up with the latest technology. the vehicle has a brand new Pioneer CD. P3. USB stereo (w/green lighting of course). This head unit sends power to four hidden speakers in the front doors and rear deck. You will find L. E. D lighting throughout too. This includes; interior (door lights and custom green under-dash lights). trunk. and license plate lights. as well as front turn/marker lights. and rear tail/brake lights. All power is provided by a 'yellow top' Optima battery custom mounted in the trunk of the car. The vehicle also has beautiful custom flat-glass w/factory gray tint. The front windows are full power.

This ride gets waves and thumbs up wherever I go. no matter the age of the individual! It is setup very nice. and while it has the look of a pro-street resto-rod. it is an excellent "show 'n go" car that you can drive anywhere. Only blem is in passenger door-jam where clear is bubbled a little.

I am third-generation of an automotive family. My cars and bikes are always very clean and well maintained. This is no exception to that rule. I really want this car to go to a good home.
