Here at 1st Noel Auctions we like to call this Gold Glow Mustang Grande  "Pony Express. "  Perhaps because. since it first bowed in mid-1964. the Mustang has allowed the owner to "express" himself (or herself) in innumerable ways.   From workmanlike sixes to peppy small-block V-8s. right on up to barrel-chested big-blocks better suited to the drag strip than the daily commute. the Ford Mustang could wear numerous hats. and wear them all well.

When talk turns to the long-nose Mustangs of 1971-1973. the fastback Mach 1s and Boss 351s tend to get the lion's--or pony's--share of attention.   However. the notchback coupe was no slouch in the looks department. and could also be optioned up for exceptional performance.   This pristine '73 positively shimmers in Gold Glow with a Ginger interior.  Photos truly fail to do it justice.   It seems almost to vibrate with a warm butterscotch sheen. and it will catch eyes and turn heads at any car show where vehicles painted blue. red. yellow and black tend to be a bit more common. The 351 Cleveland under this steed's long bonnet is tastefully enhanced with some finned black dress-up items. and its years in Alabama and South Carolina helped preserve this thoroughbred's impressive condition.   The Grande is a 33K miles original with a completely rebuilt drivetrain. and the luxury orientation of the Mustang Grande package is reflected in the inclusion of power brakes. steering. and antenna.   The pony gallops on white letter radial hooves. and the original spare and jack come along in the trunk.   A modern digital stereo with CD player may not be original. but whatever your musical preferences--even if they run to Grand Funk Railroad. Jim Croce or any artist contemporaneous with this car--it sure grants you better sound quality than a '70s-correct 8-track.   As a bonus. a complete Marti Report confirms the Ford's provenance. and the owner's manual and warranty documents are part of the deal as well.

As with any classic car. this one has a back story. but unlike some. this Mustang owner's story. and that of how and why it came to be his. nbsp;survived for posterity.   Back in 1973. a young man named Vincent had a cousin whose family owned a chain of thriving bakeries.   These wealthy relations all drove brand new cars. nbsp;while Vincent's family was at that time unable to purchase such luxuries.   His 17-year-old cousin was already on his second new car--which happened to be a '73 Mustang Grande with 351 power.   Vincent fell in love with this car. but his older cousin refused to let him so much as touch it.   Fast forward to 2003--thirty years later--and Vincent. after many years as a public servant in New York City. decided to take the leap and make his boyhood dream a reality at last.   Thus he purchased this car from a Hemmings ad. over the phone. and when it arrived it was a low-mileage original in need of some freshening up.   Vincent spared no effort or expense to make this Grande the Mustang he had so long desired.   Ever had a dream car?  Ever finally get your hands on that dream car?  Then you can certainly relate.    To quote a wise man--a fellow by the name of Willy Wonka--"We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams!" This '73 Mustang Grande 351 Cleveland is the culmination of a young boy's aspiration and determination to never give up on his hopes. nbsp;ideals and goals.   You won't find many flaws with this outstanding example of a Ford "personal luxury pony car with muscle power. "  The steering tracks straight and true as your pilot this 'Stang down the road. the transmission shifts smoothly. the engine runs nicely. the power antenna works. and the doors. trunk and hood all close with no fitment issues.   You can feel at ease driving it home--wherever home may actually be!!  A steal at the reserve price. so bid with confidence!  We can pick you up at the airport and help you with your shipping needs. in order to more easily get this Stallion parked in your stable.   Now you know why we call it Pony Express. Don't let this Prize Pony gallop away.   Call 1st Noel today.  917-577-1597

EVERY COLLECTOR CAR MUST HAVE A STORY ATTACHED TO IT SO PLEASE ALLOW ME TO TELL YOU THIS CAR PREVIOUS OWNERS STORY OF HOW IT CAME TO BE. BACK IN 1973 WHEN VINCENT WAS ONLY 12 YEARS OLD HIS COUSINS FAMILY OWNED A CHAIN OF BAKERY STORES AND REMEMBERS HOW THEY WERE VERY WEALTHY AND THEY ALL DROVE BRAN NEW CARS. WELL VINCENTS FAMILY WAS DIRT POOR AND COULD ONLY DREAM OF SUCH THINGS. BUT HIS COUSIN WHO AT THE TIME WAS ONLY 17 WAS ALREADY GOING ON HIS 2ND BRAN NEW CAR AS THEY COULD AFFORD IT. SO HE DROVE UP WITH A BRAN NEW 1973 FORD MUSTANG GRANDE 351 CLEVELAND AND WHEN LITTLE VINCENT SAW IT HE IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE CAR AND ALL HE WANTED TO SIMPLY DO WAS TOUCH IT. WHEN HIS COUSIN RUDELY SMACKED HIS HAND AND SAID DONT EVER TOUCH MY CAR BECAUSE YOU CANT AFFORD A CAR LIKE THIS! WELL VINCENT NEVER FORGOT THAT EXPERIENCE OR THE CAR THAT HE FELL IN LOVE WITH. SO AFTER HE GREW UP AND MANY YEARS OF BEING A PUBLIC SERVANT FOR NEW YORK HE FINALLY SAVED UP ENOUGH MONEY BACK IN 2003 AND DECIDED NOW WAS THE TIME TO LIVE HIS DREAM. SO HE BOUGHT THE HEMMINGS MAGAZINE FOUND THIS 1973 FORD MUSTANG GRANDE. CALLED THE OWNER AND MADE HIS DREAM CAR PURCHASE OVER THE PHONE. WHEN THE CAR ARRIVED IT WAS A PRESERVED LOW MILEAGE ORIGINAL THAT NEEDED SOME FRESHNING UP. SO VINCENT WENT ALL OUT AND BROUGHT IT BACK TO ALL THE FACTORY SPEC GLORY OF WHEN IT WAS NEW WITHOUT SPAREING ANY EXPENSE AS HE WANTED IT TO BE PERFECT JUST LIKE HE REMEMBERED HIS COUSINS CAR WAS JUST AS HE DREAMED.
