FJ 40 1978 Low Milage California Car Original Blue Plates Land Cruiser FJ40

For your consideration: a beautiful extremely low mileage 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ~40.   This was a one owner car. prior to my purchasing it. in January 2012. The original owner purchased it new from a Bay Area dealership.   This has always been a California registered vehicle and yes the miles are original at 63840.

This is equipped with the 2F engine and factory four speed manual transmission.

The following information will relate to condition and wear.

An outside inspection will reveal a crack in the front windshield. upper right passenger side and yes there is rust at the area of the rear sill. Also. there is rust present on the underside of all doors. I have a new replacement sill. purchased from Cool Cruisers of Texas (CCOT). which I will include in the sale. Just to give you an idea of repair costs to the rear sill area; I obtained a quote of $700 from a local reputable body shop to replace the sill and paint to match. There are chips. scratches. and dings on the exterior painted surfaces. At one time it had an auxillary fuel tank. as a result a hole is present on the rear passenger side. In addition there is patched hole in the cargo area (relating to the spare fuel tank).

An inspection of the interior will reveal a crack on the dash. Surface rust is present in the cargo area under the mat. Missing the key that unlocks rear doors.

The drive train performs well. It does have a Downey header and an exhaust leak can be heard. When cold it will backfire between shifts. It recently passed California smog and is ready to transfer to any California buyer. The tires have a great deal of tread.

Since I have owned the vehicle. I have replaced the shocks (Rancho 9000). the oil pan gasket. fluids and given it a tune-up.

The history I have on this vehicle is that it stayed on a ranch in Marin County. where it was driven. thus the reason for the low miles. I acquired it as the result of the owner getting a divorce.

I drove it last summer and a bit this spring; without the hard top and doors on it.  I recently purchased a 1974 FJ~40 and will be keeping that one.

Seven days after cleared payment should be long enough.

Shipping is solely the responsibility of the winning bidder. I will need ample notice from the shipping representative prior to pick-up. I live about 20 minutes from the Sacramento Itl. Airport and will consider meeting any potential buyer there.
