Vehicle Details
1979 Chevrolet Camaro Berlinetta. Original, well-optioned and complete. Everything is there and works. Very close to how she came from GM, with older, sun-faded respray/repairs over original factory paint color. Still has original exhaust system. While mechanically sound, the body needs restoration, but is still fun to drive as-is and looks pretty good from several steps back. Rust emerging in typical areas on bottom of each fender and lower front of quarter panels as pictured. Ideal candidate for restomod, tribute car or stock restoration. Painstaking mechanical rebuild 40 K miles back w/tons of receipts and pictures. New items included: p/s pump, fuel pump, water pump, radiator, HD fan clutch, alternator, NAPA steering gear, rag joint, u-joints, axle seals, all suspension joints, urethane control arm bushings/bumpers, brake booster, distribution valve, brake lines, cruise control transducer, and upper/lower speedometer cables. A/C converted to R-134 including parallel flow condenser, resealed compressor, new blower motor and R-134 specific orifice tube and pressure switch. Original 350/4 BBL engine professionally machined +0.030" with KB flat-top pistons, Isky 256 hydraulic cam, 3-angle valve job with bronze valve guides, roller-tip Comp rocker arms, new thermal vacuum switches, HEI module, pickup coil and rebuilt Quadrajet carburetor, Hella H-4 headlamps. TH 350 transmission professionally rebuilt with Alto frictions/steels, new sprag, input drum and torque converter. Camel interior freshened up w/new carpet, headliner, PUI seat upholstery and AM/FM/CD w/Aux input for i Pod. Full size spare mounted in trunk along w/bumper jack and lug wrench. Wheels are Western turbine-style 14 x 7's. Was my daughter's HS and college car here in Arizona, currently parked out of the weather in a nearby storage unit and is driven on weekends. Per the VIN this is a Norwood, Ohio built car. We've owned the car since mid-2012. Original heater core disconnected as it started leaking this fall, new core is provided.
