Low miles, runs strong, very clean, with a little effort you can have a NICE FJ62

Really nice LC with low miles and good overall condition, add basic paint and body work and you will an enviable fj62. If you're looking for a solid, clean LC that's worth a trip to the body shop, this one can be a real head turner at a fraction of the cost. I purchased this LC from an out of state insurance auction when looking for a beater to take on the beach, my thinking was I would get a better 4wd than available locally. Upon delivery I realized it was way too nice for the beach and I started work towards the classic LC experience. It was easy to find most of the parts, except the replacement fender that may be the last new aftermarket unit in the world, the grill is temporarily attached as a test fit, and all parts are present. I've worked on it on & off and only driven +- 10 miles since receiving it in 2017, no red flags that I'm aware of.

The FJ62 is the last model that is basically a Japanese military vehicle; it starts quick and runs well, better than I expected, surprisingly strong like a tractor. It was slow to start before I replaced fuel pump and filter (both OEM), pulling that tank was not fun but I didn't want to cut into the cargo area floor like some do. The acid wash took several days and the tank is very clean inside now, filler flap is unstuck so fuel should not spill from gas cap when making turns (notice staining at gas filler area?). Battery was out for an extended time so it likely needs to drive a while to enable computer to relearn, new full size battery last year.

When I received the LC there was fuel-oil stain on cargo carpet (chain saw) and stickers-food-soda residue, looks like it was used on farm then given to the son to haul grandkids for a year or two. I removed everything from the interior and spent days washing out the shell, steaming off window film, cleaning the seats, installing new carpet, even installed new speakers and antenna, factory radio works but is a little scratchy. This LC interior is clean, feels clean, smells clean, seats are pretty good, headliner almost perfect, small cracks on dash, new carpet fit is about 99%.

Replaced the vacuum valves for 4WD, it works normally on the land around my home. Replaced front tires 10 miles ago, back tires have about 60% tread left. Ac is installed but not working; my plan was to strip the emissions and AC for better power so I haven't made any effort to diagnose. There is small areas of rust in the usual spots (snake blinders), chassis-frame is solid with only sporadic surface rust. Body filler on hood suggests previous owner liked to run into things. One of the rear windows sticks when operated from driver's control, but not from the window's door control, maybe contacts need cleaning inside switch. Overall, it's much better than I expected when I bought it off an insurance auction, online with just a few pictures to go by.

I pressure washed most of the undercarriage, lots of Georgia mud in my NC yard now. You can tow or drive it home, or I'll load on transport provider you choose and pay. I have good seller feedback and several NC professional licenses that are easily verified. Check out the pictures and files in Dropbox, and YouTube video. Ask any question and I'll do my best to provide information.

FAQ&A #1: What is the reserve? Reserve price is not relevant because it can be changed until 12 hours from auction end, lowered if bidding is active, raised or left where it is for bid snipers, etc.

FAQ&A #2: What will you take? I'm letting the auction run its course.

FAQ&A #3: Why are you selling? I don't have plans for it, and would like to free my garage up for other interests.

$100 deposit due at close of auction is to cover my listing costs, if deposit is not received in 24 hours I'll send second chance offer to next bidder. After making the $100 deposit, you can buy or quit and we are even; if you need more than 72 hours to make payment I'll consider extra time w/ increased deposit. I just want to sell the vehicle; if you want an FJ62 & have a little ability, I don't think you will find a better opportunity.
