Simple easy description typical of the 2 line vague ones often seen on here would be: 1971 Buick, runs and drives, needs a little work, decent body - for the cost of this car and a couple grand you could have a very inexpensive GSX clone

_______________________________________________________

Now if you want the detailed long read for a description, but it is easier than answering a ton of questions, most everything you would want to know is covered below....

Pictures were taken late November and early December 2021 just as the leaves are starting to fall - car might be dirty within a week or so because my hoses are off for the winter so it will show best today

Decent condition 71 Skylark - perfect for mild restoration, GSX clone or solid enough for a G Machine or Pro Tour Build

Original paint code 11 Cameo or Arctic White, w/Green interior, Vinyl Roof, 350 4 Barrel code TD engine, Turbo 350 Transmission, Dual Exhaust, AC, Power Steering, Power Brakes - car comes with original rolled up Fisher Body build sheet from Buicks Home Plant in Flint Michigan (where this car was built) and real vintage 1971 Buick Dealer license plates

Mechanical:

Link to engine running video: https://youtu.be/ShBQhu6heZM

Video demonstrates the engine with a quiet smooth idle, high vacuum reading at idle, steady gauge reading - no needle fluctuation and secondaries opening

•Car runs and drives - This is an actual running and driving down the street project. Not one that just moves forward a few feet and is being called running and driving - transmission shifts firm, engine starts idles and runs up fine, drives like a normal old GM A Body • All lights, turn indicators, horn, brake lights work - it is not beyond the realm of possibility that this car could possibly pass safety, but I won't confirm that • Indicated 78,000 miles and based on everything I've found I think believe it

•This car has every single born with nut and bolt - never been apart, AC and all underhood components that are usually missing are there and intact - AC still has pressure, washer pump and reservoir intact, overflow etc. - Even the Vapor Canister and Emissions components are still there - All this stuff will work for 455 car restorations too. These are the parts that will cost you a fortune to find even when you think your build is 98% done - I have been there before

• Doesn't leak any fluids at all - doesn't smoke, no exhaust leaks, smells like a typical old GM inside - not a "barn find" which means it doesn't smell like mold or rodents •Factory numbers match 350 4 Barrel TD code GS350 that was rated at 315 HP and 410 Tq Gross figures in 1970 but down rated to 260 HP 360 Tq Net figures by 1971-1972 - it is still a 9.5 to 1 compression strong 350 and weighs 125 lbs less than a Chevy Small Block

• Has original numbers matching Quadrajet and Distributor, but currently installed is an Edelbrock electric choke and fast idle solenoid carb and a Mallory Unilite Distributor - Those two parts are almost a Grand right there these days • Has a complete Dual Exhaust system to the rear of the car that complete and sounds great

•This car is the least expensive GM A Body I have found for sale anywhere that is actually together and moves itself - I have seen 307 2 barrel Chevelle Malibu's apart in pieces in boxes of who knows what that you can see the ground under the car from the OUTSIDE of the car for more than my cars price and mine is 100% complete

Body:

•All glass is good - windshield, rear sides

•I have shot pictures with weak refrigerator magnets attached all the way along the lower body and wheel arches - it is pretty much all metal although there are some small areas of previous repair - the body looks like original paint from the doors forward with some touch up - from the doors back and roof it is white 2K primer - it has had lower quarter patches installed, but all of the inner drops and wheelhouses are original - more below

•Doors open and shut with one finger - no body bushing sag or alignment issues - all locks and window regulators work - car even has its original front wheelhouse flaps on the suspension and the small mud flaps below - all soft seals are aged and need replaced

•I have all of the trim and bumpers - it is off as is the rear bumper in some photos so you can see the metal underneath it - it is in decent shape and the parts I have shined up look presentable - I think this car could be blocked and painted from here with a little countour work but it is NOT perfect, although could be with moderate effort - for a driver grade build you are very close - the trunk filler panel is solid on top but thinning underneath and may need very small weatherstrip edge work - windshield and rear glass channels are sound

•Most all of the subtle body lines these cars have are present - the sharp center body line, the swooping bullet buldges front and rear are there - not mudded away - there is some repair previously done in areas, but can be easily dealt with by even a novice - the worst bodyline miss to my eye is in the front centerline of the passengers side wheel opening - it can be fixed/sharpened

•Solid frame, rockers including pinch seams below, doors including bottoms, roof, front fenders, quarter panels and inner drops and supports - core support is a good no wreck unit with mild corosion under battery, but not rusted thru. Rear wheel houses are 95% perfect •It is a no hit never been wrecked vehicle or had crash damage front side or rear - most cars this age have been apart many times or wreck repaired •Every nut and bolt I have turned has come right out including the rear bumper and frame bolts - I used a small 1/2" ratchet, not even a breaker bar, to loosen them - and can prove it - they are all reusable and turn by fingers

•Needs Lower Trunk Pan (trunk well only) and Braces only, not the back seat extension or rear tail extension. This will need to be done to fully hold gas tank up - only 1 strap is on at this time with a temporary strap on the other side. I have and will include a $600+ dollar Goodmark 3 piece Trunk Pan and Trunk Braces for the asking price.

Also Floor Pans are there and could be patched - see images - but I would do partial pans possibly halves - This all can be done frame on - Front floors could take short halves and probably short rear pans BUT rockers, extensions and braces are fine - car still has its original carpet in it so you know it isn't terrible

The common almost expected issues:

•Its all original so check everything •One thin shot of touch up or mild repaint over original - minor body work had been done - even where the vinyl top was is far better than most including window channels

•Gas tank is rusty on the top - I was going to do a Fuel Injected tank anyway, but this one isn't gunked up and the car runs with it - has fuel in it and hasn't leaked •Bench Seat Column shift - interior is all there but worn - front seat is showing foam, but foam is intact - headliner is surprisingly perfect •Car has a lot going for it but it does have a fair amount needing to be done to be great

Reason for selling - I was going to do a full G Machine build on this frame, doors, fenders, roof, hood etc., using LS drivetrain (I had a buyer for the driveline thru a Buick guy for $3K but now am glad I didn't pull it). Then a supposed "rust free" desert car we bought for the cowl back and floors wound up being far WORSE than this one (we actually scrapped it) and before I started replacing metal on this one I decided to sell since it is so complete and I already have other similar and capable cars -

Most would agree this one isn't a bad one to base a big build around or just do a minor restore - far better than most of the ones you see people tackling in online videos or on forums - That opinion is based on having completely fame off restored, and ground up built many cars over the years including full tube chassis and mid engine supercars

I have included pics with the rear bumper off to show the inner drops and rear pan - The more work I do the higher the price will be - It is as cheap as it will get today - I will go over everything in detail on the phone - Clear title in my name - No I won't take less than I am asking which is extremely reasonable for a complete running 51 year old GM A-Body this late in the game - plus I have more than that in it by now - It is also worth more than that in parts

I prefer to discuss a car like this in detail over the phone so we are on the same page - the camera is not magic though - it looks like it does in the pictures and the pictures are part of the description - but I want a happy buyer so expectations need to match reality

You can thank ebay management for the following increasingly more strict terms of these auctions

All items are as described and as is - No excuses or stories and we expect the same from our buyers. We want you to be happy with your purchase, so please ask any questions that you need answered - look at the pictures, carefully read the description and ask any questions in advance of bidding because it is your responsibility to insure you are going to be happy with this purchase, not ours.

This is cash only sale with an immediate downpayment due via Paypal at the end of the auction. If you are not capable of doing a cash deal you will need to contact the seller PRIOR TO BIDDING to arrange other terms. The hold period on any other form of payment will be lengthy - possibly 30-40 days, so the best solution for both the buyer and the seller is a cash transaction - this bike will not be released to a person showing up on the pickup day with a cashiers check under any circumstances so forget about even trying it

This is a 51 year old vintage car and it is very fortunate it even still exists and runs let alone it isn't rusted to the ground so it is therefore offered "AS- IS, WHERE-IS", with no warranty or guarantee, expressed or implied, as to its condition, fitness for use or fitness for a particular purpose. Information in the description section does not insure or guarantee overall condition of the vehicle and is not intended to be comprehensive. In no way can any positive proof or guarantee of this information be established, provided or proven by the seller or even a buyer for that matter - Based on this caveat, a purchaser or disappointed bidder shall have no recourse against the seller as this is a vintage 51 year old specialty vehicle being sold as is - The purchaser is completely responsible for their ability to drive this machine - The seller reserves the right to cancel any auction. The seller will not be held liable for any such cancellation and/or closure.

Your bid is a binding agreement to buy not to come and look - According to EBAY POLICY your bid is a legal binding contract to purchase by law. Ebay continues to change their terminology on this policy, but the most recent version can be viewed here - http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/bidding-overview.html Non paying bidders can be considered in breach of contract and handled as a delinquent account by law and submitted to our collection agency for collections which may include a restocking fee, storage or holding costs, late fees and all ebay charges
