Real and restored 1965 Sunbeam Tiger Mk1

Sale price: $55,000.00 make an offer

Seller's notes: "A small chip or two which are shown in the photos. Hardtop to side glass fit is atrocious and not really not fixable since that's the way they were! It needs a speedo gear, I never got around to it. Two small holes for an old mirror on passenger side should have been filled but were not before paint, cosmetic repair is fine. Real and restored 1965 Sunbeam Tiger Mk1.   Original 260 and Borg Warner T10.   Driveline completely rebuilt in 2008 when car was totally disassembled and stripped.   Total repaint in CrossFire Yellow.   (originally a white car).   Body off and all fasteners and suspension redone.

Tan interior is all new as is the White convertible top.   Top frame is properly powder coated as well.   Black hard top is completely restored and all rubber seals on car and hardtop are new.

All the Tiger bits are there and restored.   The trunk includes the correct clips for jack and handle. the correct battery tie down and a built in battery tender.   The spare is correct and in place.

The wiring is completely replaced and as from the factory.   The lights. gauges. switches all work as they should (except speedo which needs a gear) and the dash is perfect.   The glove box is new and the wood dash door is perfect.   The heater blower and hoses are all new and perfect.   The heater core is new. but I blocked it off at the hoses since I don't need heat in Florida.

The clutch and all brake systems are new and perfect.   The biggest issue on Tigers is overheating.   This car is so sorted out that it will idle all day long in Florida heat and traffic with no overheat.   The fix included:  Fairlane water pump with modified pulley to speed up the pump; modified hose fitting and elbows to maximize flow; Aluminum multi core radiator (third try); custom and powder coated shroud; block out plates in air intake area to force flow; no electric fans needed.

Upgrades include hidden electronic ignition and alternator upgrade.   The T10 Shifter is correct and restored.   The linkage is specific to Tigers and hard to find.   I finally removed it and had it completely rebuilt and restored.   It works like it should including the reverse lockout.

Mechanicals include new master cylinder. exhaust. wires. fuel pump. carb. fan blower. alternator. hoses. clamps. etc.

Rare in Tigers. this one includes the complete steering column and turn indicators.   The steering wheel is correct and restored.   It also includes all the correct horn ring and internal horn mechanics.

I always wanted a Tiger and finally bought this one in 2008.   It was complete and painted. but the mechanicals needed sorting and trim details were needed.   I have enjoyed the car and the project. but am ready for a car in need of similar work.   Great real car for a Tiger fan.  Very good paint. No rust ever and a perfect body and under carriage.   I have owned and still own a lot of classic cars.   This is a serious 1- or at minimum a 2+.
