Vehicle Details

1972 Toyota Land Cruiser. I have owed this cruiser for 30+ years, title was transferred to my son after college. He does not have a interest in fixing it back up and I don't have the time so now it is for sale. I will do my best to fully explain both the good and bad but feel free to ask questions or even come buy and inspect if you are in the Sacramento, Ca area. She is mostly stock with the addition of a mallory distributor with pertronixs ignitor, Holly 2300 two barrel carb, electric fuel pump, aux gas tank, and front disc brakes with upgraded master cylinder. The rear brakes were also rebuilt at the same time with new cylinders, hoses, etc. The brakes work really good which is a constant battle with the stock setup. The motor was rebuilt right before i got it and runs well though it hasn't had a tune up in years, I did just put a new accelerator pump and float needle in the carb. The transmission, transfer case, and pto all shift as they should. It has the factory pto winch [ I would get a new cable ] and all the lights, gauges, work as the should. It has a new am fm cd usb radio but needs new speakers, cb radio with pa speaker all mounted on a aluminum shelf above the dash. The drivers seat and jump seats have good upholstery, passenger seat the threads are deteriorating. The roof rack was my sons first welding project. I have had the speedometer apart twice, once to fix the broken needle and once to fix the tenth counter. I did not change the mileage. The tires are old and should be replaced but comes with a brand new spare that hasn't been mounted. I have most of the original parts except a couple of rims and hub caps that are on my welding trailer. Now for what it needs. It needs the rear sill, the back of the quarter panels, a couple of spots on the left quarter panel and a spot on the left front fender repaired due to rust. This is where all cruisers rust and the panels are readily available. The rear sill is the worst as it affects the two rear doors working properly. All the floors are in good shape with only surface rust. The doors are all good as you can see in the photos. It has a dent in the hood from a tree branch falling on it last year. This has good bones and would be ideal for a full restoration at a fraction of the price they want for those top dollar ones. It has been non-opted registration wise so if you wanted to operate in Ca just pay the current fees. This is for sale locally so I reserve the right to pull the listing up until the reserve price has been met. Also you will know the reserve price when you hit it so don't ask. Remember, this is a 49 year old vehicle, luxury was not its intent, reliably getting you in and out of the back country was. I always said it's like driving a can full ball bearings down the road. Comes with 15 gallons of fresh gas [ the gas was drained before storage ] a $70 value here in California! This vehicle is sold as is, where is. Cash or Escrow.com, fee to be split between buyer and seller. If using a credit card that fee will also be the buyers. Happy bidding!
